2024 Preview? Gavin Newsome Makes Strange Challenge to Ron DeSantis

You’d think the governor of a state like California, which has fallen to corruption and filth over the last several years wouldn’t dare to criticize the governor of a state over 2,000 miles away that’s doing well.

California governor Gavin Newsom isn’t your average governor though.

If there’s an opportunity to face plant, he’s bound to find it.

That’s the only way to explain Newsom’s latest comments towards Florida governor Ron DeSantis.

Newsom has decided to ignore his own failing state and instead challenge DeSantis to a debate..

Why?

Newsom probably wants more attention for when he tries to run for president in 2024.

It only makes sense that he’d do anything to divert attention away from his failures in California.

The Hill reports on Newsom’s strange challenge:

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) challenged Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) to a debate on Friday, following Democrats’ outrage over DeSantis’s decision to charter two planes of migrants that landed in Martha’s Vineyard, Mass.

“Hey [Gov. Ron DeSantis], clearly you’re struggling, distracted, and busy playing politics with people’s lives,” Newsom said in a tweet. “Since you have only one overriding need — attention — let’s take this up & debate. I’ll bring my hair gel. You bring your hairspray. Name the time before Election Day.”

Newsom and DeSantis are both running for reelection this year, and DeSantis is considered a top potential presidential candidate for the GOP in 2024. Speculation has also swirled about Newsom running for the Democratic nomination amid doubts that President Biden will run for a second term.

Newsom challenged DeSantis on Twitter:

Fox News has more on the California governor’s questionable priorities:

The challenge comes one day after Newsom asked the Department of Justice to investigate both DeSantis and Texas Governor Greg Abbott, accusing them of using kids as “political pawns” after the two governors sent migrants to different states.

“What @GovRonDeSantis and @GregAbbott_TX are doing isn’t clever, it’s cruel. I’m formally requesting the DOJ begin an immediate investigation into these inhumane efforts to use kids as political pawns,” Newsom tweeted.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sent two planes containing illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts on Wednesday. Abbott sent two buses containing over 100 migrants to a location near Vice President Kamala Harris’ residence at the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C., on Thursday morning.

Newsom would rather badmouth other governors than deal with problems within his own corrupt state.

He appears to be using democrats’ sudden and newfound outrage over illegal immigration to his advantage.

Both governor DeSantis and Texas governor Greg Abbott have bussed illegal migrants who have overwhelmed their states to other parts of the country after Joe Biden and company refused to enforce border security.

Newsom called for investigations into both governors by sending a letter to the DOJ:

Newsom is clearly angling for attention over a possible 2024 presidential run.

There is no other reason to challenge a governor of another state to a debate.

Newsome just needs attention because he will be the Dem candidate in 2024 and DeSantis already has the attention of the world. DeSantis should ignore Gruesome Newsome and treat him like the child he is.
