Ted Cruz Has Major Problems With Biden’s New OCC Pick

I want to let everyone in on a secret….

Anyone trying to heavily regulate cryptocurrencies, or any other digital asset is not your friend—in fact, they’re an outright enemy of the people.

Nothing says “I love the establishment” more than attempting to regulate cryptocurrencies out of existence.

Bitcoin is the hardest money known to humanity at this time, and it certainly beats an overprinted, and devalued U.S. Dollar……a currency which is almost synonymous with inflation now.

This is aside from all the platform assets like ETH, ADA, and all of the interesting use cases for blockchain technology to further enhance our lives, and open up fresh opportunities for our people.

Ted Cruz has been somewhat of a champion for crypto lately, as he continues to challenge those which would no doubt destroy the industry—people like Saule Omarova.

Omarova is Biden’s new pick for Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, but her stance on cryptocurrencies is concerning to say the least.

Cruz claims that she will almost certainly destroy the fledgling industry with overregulation, and I couldn’t agree more.

Here’s more on the story:

Coin Telegraph reports:

Senator Ted Cruz has become the latest crypto ally to speak out, claiming that her decisions, if nominated, could change the future of the industry in a tweet on Tuesday.

A number of big banks and banking associations are also against the nomination, with the American Bankers Association debating whether to publicly fight the decision.

ABA President and CEO Rob Nichols said, “We have serious concerns about her ideas for fundamentally restructuring the nation’s banking system,” in a statement on Friday.

U Today explains:

In the Trump administration, the OCC was helmed by crypto-friendly Brian Brooks, who took on the job after working as Coinbase’s legal officer. Brooks also had a brief stint as the CEO of Binance.US after leaving office.

Omarova is primarily known as a staunch opponent of the big banks that she will be expected to oversee. In one of her recent tweets, she particularly targeted JPMorgan.

Ironically, the cryptocurrency lobby will be fighting on the same side as big banks to stop Omarova’s nomination.
