Biden’s Motorcade Gets Booed In California

To protect one of his own, Joe Biden took a trip to California to campaign on behalf of Democrat Governor of California Gavin Newsom.

As Biden’s motorcade arrived in Long Beach, a large amount of patriots met him there and started to boo his arrival.

The crowd of patriots held signs, American flags and Trump flags and let Biden know he wasn’t welcomed to Long Beach.

Biden was in the city to tell a small crowd of Governor Newsom’s supporters to vote no on the recall election and to praise Newsom at the same time.

He ended up telling the democratic crowd who attended the event that Larry Elder who is looking to replace Newsom is a “clone of Trump”.

The New York Post had more details to share about Biden’s visit to California:

President Biden implored Californians to keep Democrat Gavin Newsom as their governor Monday night, warning attendees of a Long Beach rally that a “Trump clone” in the form of longtime radio talk show host Larry Elder could replace him.

“The eyes of the nation are on California because the decision you’re going to make isn’t just going to have a huge impact on California, it’s going to reverberate around the nation, and quite frankly — not a joke — around the world,” Biden said in his final pitch ahead of Tuesday’s recall vote, which could see Newsom thrown out of office fewer than three years after winning the governorship with nearly 62 percent of the vote.

Biden did not mention Elder by name during his remarks, which lasted approximately 15 minutes and were punctuated by coughing fits so intense and frequent that at one point the president apologized as he took a swig of water.

But, Biden did call out past statements by Elder — including one the candidate made last month opposing a state minimum wage — and described the Republican as, “the closest thing to a Trump clone that I’ve ever seen in your state.”

“You either keep Gavin Newsom as your governor or you’ll get Donald Trump,” Biden said. “It’s not a joke. A Republican governor blocking progress on COVID-19 who is also anti-woman, anti-worker, a climate denier, who doesn’t believe in choice. The choice should be absolutely clear.”

On Tuesday, voters in California will decide whether to keep Newsom, or replace him with someone else, with polls showing Elder, a prominent conservative radio show host, as the most likely alternative.

Biden, who spent time with Newsom surveying fire damage in the Sacramento area before flying to Long Beach, recalled to the crowd how he got to run against the ‘real Donald Trump’ last year.

‘This year, this year, the leading Republican,’ Biden said. ‘Is the closest thing to a Trump clone that I’ve ever seen in your state.’

‘He’s leading the other team. Can you imagine him being governor of this state?’ the president asked. ‘You can’t let that happen. There’s too much at stake.’

The 78-year-old Biden coughed through the delivery of his remarks, apologizing at one point for needing to take a sip of water.
