Meet Joe Collins, The Navy Veteran Looking To Unseat Maxine Waters

Finally, someone with common sense has decided to wage war against the liberal controlled state of California.

United States Navy veteran and congressional candidateĀ  Joe Collins has stated that he wants to defeatĀ  Rep. Maxine Waters(liberal) in the upcoming election because he believes she has failed to help the residents in the 43rd district of California.

Fox News had this to say about Joe Collins running against Maxine Waters:

U.S. Navy veteran and congressional candidate Joe Collins said on Wednesday that he wants to unseatĀ Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., because he believes she has failed to help theĀ residentsĀ in her district.

ā€œYou would think that when you are a Black leader in the Black community, your primary responsibility is to ensure that the people that are in your district have what they need in order to survive during times like COVID-19, but, unfortunately, that has not been the case,ā€ Collins told ā€œFox & Friends,” arguing that Waters has failed to help minority-owned businesses in the south Los AngelesĀ district.

ā€œWe have tons of black-owned businesses here in Los Angeles that haveĀ not been able to receive any type of business. Not from the state, not from the city, not from the federal government. The majority of the reason is because of Maxine Waters.ā€

Running as a Republican for California’s 43rd district, which includes parts of Los Angeles. He is trying to unseat Waters and his campaign has raised $3.1 million. He claimed Waters was ā€œlosing trustā€ with her constituency.

ā€œPeople want to see Maxine Waters gone,ā€ Collins said, criticizing her for the amount of time spent on the failed bid to impeach and remove President Trump from office.

MeanwhileĀ said on Tuesday that the recent protests against police brutality and racial injustice are about battling a ā€œtraditionā€ in law enforcement that has to be ā€œdone away with,ā€ while also downplaying the violence and looting during some of the protests as ā€œminor” in relation “to the numbers who are on the positive side of this and talking about change.ā€

Waters, who was speaking during an interview on MSNBCā€™s ā€œThe Beat,ā€ said the protests that followed the death ofĀ George Floyd, who died while in Minneapolis police custody, spurred a national debate over policing and reform measures within law enforcement.

Collins said that he wants to run against Waters because, as a native of South Central Los Angeles, the conditions have become worse over the past 13 years while he has served in the military.

ā€œComing back home and seeing things considerably worse, especially with the homeless pandemic, the lack of quality jobs, and our education being among dead last in our country,ā€ Collins said.

ā€œThe prime issue here is the person who has the most influence and that person is Maxine Waters. Me being a resident of south Los Angeles, I think that we as young people have to step up and start taking roles in our community and start removing aged politicians from office so we can start moving forward productively.ā€

My News La had this to say about Joe Collins attempting to unseat Maxine Waters:

Republican Congressional Candidate Joe Collins says he has raised $3.1 million in his quest to defeat Democratic incumbent Maxine Waters.

Collins is a Black U.S. Navy veteran and South Los Angeles native running for Californiaā€™s 43rd district.

Collins ā€œhas raised a staggering 1.9 million in this quarter alone, out-fundraising almost any candidate running for office,ā€ said a statement from the Collins campaign. ā€œMaxine Waters has only raised $1.1 million dollars throughout the entirety of her campaign,ā€ it added in a statement that could not immediately be confirmed. ā€œSmall donors make up less than 4 percent of Watersā€™ campaign cash, while Insurance companies and PAC contributions comprise 96 percent of her fundraising. Conversely, Collins has taken in 100 percent of his campaign donations from small donors across the U.S. without receiving any donations from PACS or private companies.ā€

It will be a story of David vs. Goliath in the upcoming election with the highly notable Maxine Waters vs. the newcomer Joe Collins but we all know the underdog wins in that story.
