There's something extra strange about this story that more individuals are bringing to light.
A 2022 Netflix movie called White Noise has a script that shares strikingly similar details to the Ohio train derailment.
The plot of a new Netflix movie, “White Noise”:
A train wreck in a small Ohio town causes a tragic environmental disaster leading to a massive chemical-waste cloud forming over the town, followed by a mass-evacuation.
You can’t make this shit up.

What is even more crazy is that there was a movie just out called “White noise“ filmed in northern Ohio and some of the extras who were in it pretending to evacuate in the film now just had to evacuate in real life. Same identical scenario. Watch this pic.twitter.com/qy8jjVKxeP

Go watch the movie “White noise“ which was just released a matter of weeks or a couple months ago that I saw when I had the flu recently. Takes place in Ohio same place with the same premise with a train derailment. Same scenario. pic.twitter.com/WXY9DegT3A

The film is set in a town named College-on-the-Hill, Ohio.
The plot features a devastating event eerily similar to what took place in Ohio earlier this month.
From the White Noise plot on Wikipedia (slight spoiler warning):
However, their lives are disrupted when a cataclysmic train accident casts a cloud of chemical waste over the town. This "Airborne Toxic Event" forces a massive evacuation, which leads to a major traffic jam on the highway.
Wikipedia also noted that the plot is based on a 1985 novel of the same name.
White Noise is a 2022 absurdist comedy-drama film, written and directed by Noah Baumbach, adapted from the 1985 novel with the same title by Don DeLillo.[4] It is Baumbach's first directed feature not to be based on an original story of his own. The film stars Adam Driver, Greta Gerwig, Don Cheadle, Raffey Cassidy, Sam Nivola, and May Nivola. Set in the 1980s, the story follows the life of an academic and his family whose lives change after an air contamination accident near their home.
White Noise had its world premiere at the 79th Venice International Film Festival on August 31, 2022, and was released in select cinemas on November 25, 2022, before its streaming release on December 30, by Netflix.
A toxic cloud of waste is exactly what happened in East Palestine, Ohio.
Thousands of gallons of vinyl chloride burned and released into the atmosphere, which could have long-lasting impacts on the area's ecology.
This may be one of the largest ecological disasters in US history.
There were roughly 100,000 gallons or 1,000,000 pounds of Vinyl Chloride leaked, spilled and burned at #EastPalestine crash.

A massive, LETHAL ECOLOGICAL DISASTER recently occurred in East Palestine Ohio. A train that was carrying 20 TRAINS of hazardous polyvinyl chloride and other toxic chemicals derailed & exploded. Police are arresting reporters who are reporting on the story. Water is contaminated. pic.twitter.com/QbAaWdeMWD

Filming locations, according to IMDb, include these Ohio towns:
Wellington, Cleveland, Bedford, Berea, Oberlin, Hiram, Canton, Jefferson, Cleveland Heights, Peninsula, Dorset.
East Palestine is within a two-hour drive from these locations.

Netflix just shot a movie about a train derailing and spilling toxic chemicals into the air in East Palestine.
It's the film adaptation of the Post Mod novel White Noise, by Don Delillo, about a weird professor of "Hitler Studies" in which death is the primary theme. pic.twitter.com/yvMMvrkP9p

I just think it’s so wild that White Noise (2022) - a movie that includes a train derailing IN OHIO, causing a Toxic cloud to force people to evacuate came out in August

In a way, "White Noise" has provided a point of grim humor about the situation facing the residents of East Palestine – the joke no one wanted to make. https://t.co/XQRk2AkVve
