Whistleblower Jamie Reed is speaking out against the Transgender Center at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
Jamie Reed is a progressive. She is a queer woman married to a transman. She has devoted her career to the vulnerable.
Which is why she joined the Transgender Center at St. Louis Children's Hospital four years ago.
Today she is blowing the whistle.https://t.co/C08n30n1hh

Yes, you read that right.
CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
A transgender medical center for children!

Daily Mail shares some of Reed’s most disturbing accounts:
Jamie Reed, a former employee at the Washington University Transgender Center at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, said that working there was like working ‘in a cult’ and that what is being done to kids is ‘morally and medically appalling’.
In her affidavit, Reed said in one instance a girl was prescribed cross-sex hormones because she did not want to become pregnant.
She alleged that in another instance, a patient asked for their breasts to be removed and was given the surgery at St. Louis Children’s Hospital – but just weeks later, the woman asked for them to be ‘put back on.’ Reed draws the conclusion that proper assessment was not taken, and the patient was not properly informed that the changes were irreversible, according to the document.
She said: ‘Children come into the clinic using pronouns of inanimate objects like mushroom, rock, or helicopter. Children come into the clinic saying they want hormones because they do not want to be gay.
‘Children come in changing their identities on a day-to-day basis. Children come in under clear pressure by a parent to identify in a way inconsistent with the child’s actual identity.
‘In all these cases, the doctors decide to issue puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones.’
Reed’s full account can be read here.
As a parent, I’m enraged!
Kids do not need to be worrying about their gender or sexual preferences.
It’s absolutely disgusting that this is happening.
But what can we expect when elementary schools are pushing this crap on our kids and telling them they can identify as a starfish if they want to.
In response to the allegations, Missouri’s Attorney General has started an investigation.
The announcement was made shortly after he launched an investigation into the Washington University Pediatric Transgender Center at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. https://t.co/NKoGKulnUV

NBC News has more on the story.
Missouri has launched a multi-agency investigation into a pediatric transgender center after a former case worker alleged children were being routinely prescribed puberty blockers or hormone therapy without “appropriate or accurate” mental health assessments, the state’s attorney general announced Thursday.
The investigation was launched two weeks ago after Jamie Reed, who worked as a case manager at the Transgender Center from 2018 to November 2022, alleged the center caused permanent harm to many of the patients being treated for gender dysphoria.
In a 23-page affidavit shared on the attorney general’s website, Reed alleged the staff repeatedly violated the center’s own treatment guidelines.
She said the center required minors to meet four criteria — a minimum age, a therapist referral, parental consent and a clinical visit with an endocrinologist or an adolescent medicine specialist — before they could receive puberty blockers, which temporarily pause puberty, or hormone therapy, such as estrogen or testosterone.
But she alleged the center’s staff would provide the medication “without complete informed parental consent and without an appropriate or accurate assessment of the needs of the child.”
You can read the affidavit in full here.
As noted in Reed’s account, and on the center’s own website, some treatments can cause long-term or permanent side effects.
A.G. Bailey asked for a pause.
Andrew Bailey asked St. Louis Children's Hospital and Washington University to stop prescribing puberty-blocking hormone medication to new pediatric patients. https://t.co/SVtutfqYoQ

I don’t know about you, but the person I saw myself to be at 13 is NOT the person I know myself as now.
Childhood and adolescence are for learning and growing.
It’s not the time to make life-altering permanent decisions.
I have a hard time believing kids just come up with these ideas all on their own.
It’s more like someone has planted these thoughts or “groomed” them to think this way!
Dear parents,
Your kid isn’t trans, they’re indoctrinated. And you “affirming” it is an act of child abuse.

What happens when they change their mind or realize they’ve made a mistake and there’s no going back?
The Libs want to say it never happens!
NOT TRUE.
🧵 NEW from me: An update on detransitioner Prisha Mosley, who was put on testosterone as a minor and fast tracked to surgery as soon as she turned 18. One of the more devastating stories I’ve ever reported.@FDRLST @IWF https://t.co/BXaAmk4ReE

U.S. Senator Josh Hawley is stepping in, according to the Missouri Independent:
U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley announced his office will also look into the allegations. He sent a letter to Washington University and St. Louis Children’s Hospital with instructions to preserve records.
St. Louis Children’s Hospital could not be reached for comment. Washington University released a statement saying it was taking the allegations “very seriously and have already begun the process of looking into the situation to ascertain the facts.”
The attorney general’s office is leading an investigation into the allegations, with the assistance of the Missouri Department of Social Services and Division of Professional Registration.
The Division of Professional Registration plans to review licenses of practitioners they receive complaints about, its director, Sheila Solon said.
The thought of a children’s transgender clinic is crazy!
But it’s not just happening in Missouri.
Boston CHILDREN’S Hospital shared this clip about juvenile hysterectomies:

I always think to myself, we’ve hit rock bottom.
Then, I wake up another day and there’s a whole new level of absurdity!
Reuters reported on the recent spike in childhood “gender dysphoria,” AKA trans children.
In 2021, about 42,000 children and teens across the United States received a diagnosis of gender dysphoria, nearly triple the number in 2017, according to data Komodo compiled for Reuters.
Overall, the analysis found that at least 121,882 children ages 6 to 17 were diagnosed with gender dysphoria from 2017 through 2021.
Over the last five years, there were at least 4,780 adolescents who started on puberty blockers and had a prior gender dysphoria diagnosis.
This tally and others in the Komodo analysis are likely an undercount because they didn’t include treatment that wasn’t covered by insurance and were limited to pediatric patients with a gender dysphoria diagnosis. Practitioners may not log this diagnosis when prescribing treatment.
At least 14,726 minors started hormone treatment with a prior gender dysphoria diagnosis from 2017 through 2021, according to the Komodo analysis.
Some changes from hormone treatment are permanent. Hormone treatment may leave an adolescent infertile, especially if the child also took puberty blockers at an early age.
It’s sick that anyone would allow let alone encourage children to participate in this crap!
