Chip Roy Introduces Bill to Defund the W.H.O.

I have a few simple questions:

Do you approve of the job that the World Health Organization did in handling COVID?

Do you think that the WHO is trustworthy?

And finally, do you think that American taxpayers should be funding the WHO?

If you answered, “No” to one or all of those questions, I have some good news for you…

Congressman Chip Roy has introduced legislation that would DEFUND the WHO.

In other words, American taxpayers would stop funding this international organization.

Other countries could fund it if they want to.

For example, it’s no secret that the WHO is very friendly towards China and not the U.S.

So why should we fund it if they are only going to favor China?

The WHO is behind a lot of the lockdowns and draconian COVID restrictions.

But these aren’t elected officials.

Heck, they aren’t even American government officials.

So why did we allow them to dictate public policy in the first place?

The Daily Wire confirms that legislation has been introduced to stop funding them:

With Republicans now in control of the House, Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) reintroduced legislation Thursday to defund the World Health Organization and raised concerns about China’s influence over the group.

The bill, titled ‘‘No Taxpayer Funding for the World Health Organization Act,” cracks down on contributions to the WHO that have risen to hundreds of millions of dollars annually, making the United States one of the United Nations agency’s largest donors.

“Funneling millions of taxpayer dollars to the corrupt World Health Organization that serves the Chinese Communist Party is a slap in the face to hardworking American families struggling under record high inflation, and to all those whose lives and livelihoods were ruined and destroyed by the COVID pandemic,” Roy said in a statement given to The Daily Wire.

The legislation takes aim at the two types of contributions to the WHO. “Notwithstanding any other provision of law, effective on the date of the enactment of this Act, the United States may not provide any assessed or voluntary contributions to the World Health Organization,” the bill states.

Assessed contributions are “required dues a government agrees to pay when it becomes a member,” while voluntary contributions “fluctuate annually and are often earmarked for specific projects,” according to the Congressional Research Service.

Roy, a conservative who is a firm believer in Congress’ “power of the purse” as a means to enact change, has accused the WHO of “siding with the communists in China” over concerns that the group helped Beijing cover up the origins of the coronavirus pandemic. His bill is the latest salvo in recent years over U.S. contributions to the WHO as the group faced scrutiny for how it responded to the health crisis.

Even if you like the WHO, don’t you agree that American taxpayer money should be spent on…. Americans?!

Why do we keep sending money overseas?

Not only are we in debt, but our infrastructure is failing…

Our education continues to fall behind…

Why not keep the taxpayer money at home to actually improve our lives?!

Now that Republicans have control of the House, they are making room to bring down China’s influence on the U.S. once and for all.

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) reintroduced legislation that would defund the World Health Organization (WHO) amid concerns over China’s involvement with the group.

Titled, “No Taxpayer Funding for the World Health Organization (WHO) Act, the bill vows to no longer let the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) gain control of Americans’ hard-working money.

“Funneling millions of taxpayer dollars to the corrupt World Health Organization that serves the Chinese Communist Party is a slap in the face to hardworking American families struggling under record high inflation, and to all those whose lives and livelihoods were ruined and destroyed by the COVID pandemic,” Roy said in a statement.

Roy is accusing the WHO of taking sides with the CCP, after growing speculation surfaces that the group helped Beijing cover up the origins of Covid-19.

Of course, just because a bill is introduced, it doesn’t mean it’ll pass.

But if we garner enough public support, then our Congressmen and women will have no choice but to pay attention to us.
