JUST IN: Biden Aides Find Another Batch of Classified Documents in Different Location

Aides to Joe Biden have found at least one additional batch of classified documents in a location separate from the Washington D.C. office he used after leaving the Obama administration.

Biden’s personal attorneys previously found classified documents at Joe Biden’s vice-presidential office at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement in Washington D.C.

BREAKING: Department of Justice Reviewing Classified Documents From Biden’s Vice Presidency Discovered in Office

After the discovery of the documents in November, Biden aides have been searching for any additional classified materials that might be in other locations he used, according to a source who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

NBC News reported:

The classification level, number and precise location of the additional documents was not immediately clear. It also was not immediately clear when the additional documents were discovered and if the search for any other classified materials Biden may have from the Obama administration is complete.

Biden aides have been sifting through documents stored at locations beyond his former Washington office to determine if there are any other classified documents that need to be turned over to the National Archives and reviewed by the Justice Department, the person familiar with the matter said.

The search was described as exhaustive, with the goal of getting a full accounting of all classified documents that may have inadvertently been packed in boxes when Biden cleared out of the vice president’s office space in January 2017.

The Hill added:

Earlier on Wednesday, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre sparred with reporters over the discovery of the first batch of documents, avoiding answering questions on why the administration didn’t inform the public sooner when attorneys for Biden made the discovery on Nov. 2, just six days ahead of crucial midterm elections.

She said that the situation was under review by the Department of Justice and would not comment on it further.

Biden on Tuesday addressed the matter of the first batch, saying he was unaware of what documents were found and that his lawyers advised him not to seek such information. Biden also said he was surprised such records were kept there.

The revelation immediately drew comparisons to the FBI’s search last year of former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property, in which federal investigators seized classified documents as part of a wider federal probe into potential mishandling of the information.
