Now, a top White House COVID advisor admits there are no studies that show face masks work.
“There’s no study in the world that shows that masks work that well,” Dr. Ashish Jha told the Philadelphia Inquirer earlier this month.

“So you’re never going to get the kind of benefit from mandatory year-round masking as you would from making substantial improvements in indoor air quality, plus it’s a lot easier to implement as well,” he added.
“So this is an area where we’re doing a lot and trying to really encourage people to use the resources they have to make those investments and start really improving ventilation filtration in buildings.”

Despite the admission, Jha has been a strong advocate for mask mandates.
"When you wear a mask, you're not just protecting yourself, you're protecting people around you. And while infection numbers are high, it is absolutely the responsible thing to do to keep those mask mandates in place," Jha previously said.

Jha's cultish affinity for masks is similar to his obsession with inoculations.
The White House COVID advisor previously pushed for two annual shots during a briefing.
One shot for COVID-19 and the other for the flu.
“I really believe this is why God gave us two arms — one for the flu shot and the other one for the COVID shot!” Jha said.
