WATCH: RINO Kevin McCarthy Is Cornered

Is it any wonder why many in the GOP doubt Kevin McCarthy?

We have seen his stance flip-flop and outright flounder on several key issues, including support for gun rights and President Trump as the GOP front-runner.

Despite this, he has managed to receive a Trump endorsement—perhaps he is seen as the lesser of several evils…

McCarthy is desperately trying to secure his role as House Speaker; however, mounting resistance within the GOP now threatens his political ambition.

Currently, at least 20 members of the GOP are staunchly opposing McCarthy’s bid for Speaker.

McCarthy has resorted to using scare tactics, according to Conservative Brief:

“This is very fragile that we are the only stopgap for this Biden administration. “And if we don’t do this right, the Democrats can take the majority. If we play games on the floor, the Democrats could end up picking who the speaker is,” the minority leader said in a warning.

Here’s his recent statement via a press conference:

Rep. Andy Biggs wholeheartedly disagreed with McCarthy’s assertion that this would open the door for Democrats to choose the Speaker.

Matt Gaetz also took the opportunity to blast McCarthy:

U.S. News explains:

Already, a handful of House Republicans from the party’s conservative wing have said they would not support McCarthy’s bid for speaker, including Biggs, Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida, Rep. Bob Good of Virginia and Rep. Matthew Rosendale of Montana.

“He wants to maintain the status quo, which consolidates power into his hands and a small group of individuals he personally selects,” Rosendale wrote about McCarthy in a tweet last week. “We need a leader who can stand up to a Democrat-controlled Senate and President Biden. And unfortunately, that isn’t Kevin McCarthy.”

Big League Politics shared some of McCarthy’s past policy positions:

After the suspicious mass shooting in Las Vegas that was covered up by authorities and memory holed, McCarthy took aim at gun rights, claiming that he talked to “a number of [Congressmen] who want to look into” banning bump stocks, which can be used to modify semiautomatic firearms to mimic automatic weapons.
