Democrat Mayor Refuses to Enforce Looming Mask Mandate

Yes, you read that headline correctly. 

A Democratic politician is tired of enforcing unconstitutional, idiotic COVID mandates. 

Three-term Beverly Hills Democratic Mayor Lili Bosse appeared on Fox & Friends to announce that she won’t be dispatching officers in her city to police indoor mask-wearing.

Bosse said forcing people to wear masks was a ‘function of enforcement,’ and there are ‘more important issues’ to tackle.

LA County is four days away from potentially reinstating its mask mandate and tonight @CityofBevHills says it won’t enforce it.

The Daily Mail reported:

Speaking on Fox & Friends this morning, Bosse said: ‘I very much believe in the power of choice, I think we’ve learnt a lot since 2020, and I also think it became a function of enforcement.

‘We have more important issues to enforce, in my opinion and in the council’s opinion, regarding mental wellness checks for the unhoused, keeping the streets in the parks safe.

‘Basically there’s no judgment. If somebody wants to wear a mask, wear a mask. If you feel vulnerable wear a mask and if you don’t want to wear a mask, don’t wear a mask.

‘Beverly Hills is under LA county public health rules, but we in Beverly Hills don’t have to use our enforcement to enforce it. So if LA County puts downs this mandate, we felt they can go out and enforce it.’

According to LA County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer, if the area sees a high Covid-19 community level and stays there for two weeks in a row, they will reinstate an indoor mask mandate.

A ‘high’ level is determined if there are at least 10 new weekly coronavirus-positive hospitalizations for every 100,000 residents.

With the current figures, this means that the face covering mandate could be implemented as early as Friday.
