While January 6th protestors have been locked away in some of the worst conditions for trespassing into the Capitol, Biden’s DOJ has taken it easy against some Colbert staffers who did the same.

Last month the Capitol police arrested several Late Night Show with Stephen Colbert staffers for entering the U.S. Capitol illegally.

According to the Capitol Police, the staffers were told earlier in the day not to enter the Capitol but later on, in the night they reportedly snuck back inside and were arrested for doing so.

However, being the staffers are part of the CBS network which has pushed Covid-19 propaganda for the last two years it appears they were given a get-out-of-jail-free card.

The Post Millenial had more details to share:

Biden’s Department of Justice dropped all charges against nine Stephen Colbert staffers that were arrested last month for illegally entering a congressional building, according to officials.

Staffers from “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert were arrested by U.S. Capitol police and charged with illegal entry after they entered the Longworth House Office Building, which houses offices for members of the House of Representatives, after hours on June 17, NY Post reports.

The United States Capitol Police said in a statement on Monday, “We respect the decision that office has made,” referring to the Washington D.C. U.S. District Attorney’s Office, which made the decision not to prosecute the staffers.

Host Stephen Colbert addressed the arrests on his show and explained that is was an unpleasant experience for his employees, according to the outlet

“The Capitol Police were just doing their job, my staff was just doing their job, everyone was very professional, everyone was very calm,” Colbert said. “My staffers were detained, processed and released. A very unpleasant experience for my staff.”

Fox News reported that the group entered the building after it shut its doors to visitors, and proceeded to take pictures and videos near the offices of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Rep. Lauren Boebert.

CNBC added these details:

Federal prosecutors on Monday declined to prosecute a group of people associated with Stephen Colbert’s late-night talk show who were arrested on charges of unlawfully entering a congressional office building, U.S. Capitol Police said.

The group of nine people associated with CBS’ “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” were arrested last month for ignoring instructions stay with a staff escort while inside the building, police said in a press statement.

“Members of the group had been told several times before they entered the Congressional buildings that they had to remain with a staff escort inside the buildings and they failed to do so,” the statement said.

They were there to film a segment for the show featuring Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, a vulgar, cigar-smoking hand puppet voiced and operated by comedian Robert Smigel that has appeared on late-night comedy shows for decades.
