Elon Musk Abandons the Left, Announces He Will Vote Republican During the Next Election

Elon Musk doesn’t classify himself as a republican or a democrat.

He thinks of himself as a moderate independent.

That said, up until this point, Musk claims he’s never voted for a republican before.

Apparently, that’s all about to change.

While speaking via a video link at a Miami tech summit, Musk announced that he will be voting republican for the first time ever:

“I have voted overwhelmingly for Democrats, historically,” Musk said.

“I might never have voted for a Republican, just to be clear. Now this election I will.”

Leftist policies that have targeted free speech over the last several years have heavily influenced Musk’s decision to switch his vote.

The current situation with Twitter certainly has played a large part as well.

Our friends at the Daily Wire report on Musk’s decision to change his vote:

Elon Musk, admitting he had voted “overwhelmingly” for Democrats in the past, has changed his mind.

Musk is registered as an independent voter; he announced the switch over video link at a tech summit in Miami, Florida, hosted by the All-In podcast.

“I have voted overwhelmingly for Democrats, historically,” Musk acknowledged. “Like I’m not sure, I might never have voted for a Republican, just to be clear. Now this election I will,” Newsweek reported.

It’s not like Musk hasn’t show signs of leaning towards the right (or more likely away from the left) in the past.

Back in 2020, Musk commented on how the left was losing the middle:

In another tweet that year, he used the phrase “Take the red pill.”

Daily Mail has more on Musk’s announcement:

The world’s richest man, who was born in South African and holds US citizenship, is registered as an independent voter and describes himself as a moderate.

However, in recent years – and particularly while publicly discussing his on-hold $44 billion takeover of social media company Twitter Inc. – the Tesla and SpaceX CEO has demonstrated he is leaning more towards the political right.

Speaking via video link at a tech summit in Miami, Florida on Monday, hosted by the All-In podcast, Musk confirmed he would be changing his vote.

‘The reality is that Twitter at this point, you know, has a very far left bias,’ Musk told attendees. ‘I would classify myself as a moderate, neither Republican nor Democrat.

‘I have voted overwhelmingly for Democrats, historically. Like I’m not sure, I might never have voted for a Republican, just to be clear,’ Musk continued, adding: ‘Now this election I will.’

Twitter reacted to the announcement:
