Kevin McCarthy is the picture perfect image of a RINO.
The tapes also revealed that he also considered asking President Trump to resign in response to the protests.
I suspect that McCarthy was not telling the truth on the tape, and let’s be honest here: any RINO would make the claims that McCarthy has, wouldn’t they?
Take a look at the recording in the tweet below, as well as the reports, and let us know what you think:
NEWS: @maddow has audio of Kevin McCarthy saying privately after Jan. 6 that he expects impeachment to pass and was considering asking Donald Trump to resign.

CNN just broadcast new audio of McCarthy unambiguously blaming Trump for the January 6 attack during a House Republican Conference call on January 11, 2021. In the audio, McCarthy also claims Trump acknowledged to him that he bears responsibility for January 6. pic.twitter.com/qH7vPdS1Qf

Axios featured this quote from McCarthy found on the tape:
“I’ve had a few discussions. My gut tells me no. I’m seriously thinking of having that conversation with him tonight. I haven’t talked to him in a couple days.
From what I know of him — I mean, you guys all know him, too. Do you think he’d ever back away? But what I think I’m going to do is, I’m going to call him.” …
Dear Trump's Republicans: I plan to do everything possible to re-elect President Trump in 2024. I also plan to do everything possible to REMOVE and DEFEAT Kevin McCarthy!

I met a lot of duplicitous people in Congress but none more conniving and fundamentally dishonest than Kevin McCarthy. He will say or do whatever he thinks is necessary at a particular moment to obtain or maintain power.

CNN recalled other public comments made by Kevin McCarthy:
McCarthy made similar public comments in a little-noticed local radio interview one week after the insurrection, which CNN reported on earlier this year.
“I say he has responsibility,” McCarthy said on KERN, a local radio station in Bakersfield, California, on January 12 of last year. “He told me personally that he does have some responsibility. I think a lot of people do.”
