Why do we always see Democrats indicted on charges of this kind?

Campaign fraud, bribery, and other systemic irregularities seem to be the M.O. of these people; the alleged crimes almost always revolve around subverting systems to get what they want.

All politicians lie, and I am no fan of the GOP, but Democrats just can’t stay out of the news cycle for election and campaign related issues.

According to the latest reports, New York’s Lt. Gov. Brian Benjamin has been arrested this morning on charges of bribery and campaign related fraud.

Whether or not he is found guilty on these charges remains to be seen, but these latest charges just further highlight the systemic corruption which seems to surround the Democratic Party.

According to Zero Hedge:

Benjamin also allegedly “engaged in a series of lies and deceptions to cover up the scheme,” which included the falsification of campaign donation forms, misleading NYC authorities, and giving false information as part of a background check when he became lieutenant governor last year.

ABC News 7 explains:

The Democrat was accused in an indictment of participating in a scheme to obtain campaign contributions from a real estate developer in exchange for Benjamin’s agreement to use his influence as a state senator to get a $50,000 grant of state funds for a nonprofit organization the developer controlled.

Facing charges including bribery, fraud, conspiracy and falsification of records, he was expected to make an initial appearance Tuesday in Manhattan federal court.
