A New York GOP politician wants Americans to donate their guns and ship them to Ukraine to be used in the conflict against the Russian military.
Now we have supposedly ‘Republican’ politicians sneakily attempting to disarm Americans and send their weapons to foreign nations.
With ‘friends’ like these, who needs enemies?
GOP Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman told the New York Post he’s organizing donations to support the Ukrainian resistance against Vladimir Putin.
Who will donate their guns?! My answer is NO!

No this is not a good idea. Besides the fact that most American weapons are in the wrong calibers. NY GOP politician asks Americans to donate guns to send to Ukraine https://t.co/Y3mePVghvv via @amermilnews

Who in their right mind would fall for this scheme?
As reported by the New York Post:
“Just watching the Ukrainian residents making Molotov cocktails in a brewery out of beer bottles shows they’re in a desperate flight and we can’t stand by and do nothing,” he said before mentioning the Ukrainian president’s rejection of the US’s evacuation offer last week.
“As President Zelensky said: he doesn’t need a ride, he needs weapons.”
Blakeman hopes to collect hunting rifles and civilianized military-style semiautomatic weapons, like AR-15s.
But, he admitted that he had not yet identified a way to get the guns halfway around the world and would likely need federal agencies to sign off on the shipment.
Blakeman said he’s planning on reaching out to Long Island GOP Representatives Andrew Garbarino and Lee Zeldin to help pressure the Biden administration to grant approval.
American Military News provided additional details:
The politician is operating a four-day gun drive over the weekend, despite lacking a shipment plan. He said donations can be dropped off at a licensed gun store, SP Firearms Unlimited, in Franklin Square, New York.
“I will be the first to buy a gun and donate it to the Ukrainian people,” Blakeman said, adding that he has raised over $20,000 for the project.
Blakeman is more than welcome to fly to Ukraine and fight the Russian military himself since he’s determined to send American weapons to the battlefront.
