65% of Democrats Support Trudeau’s Trucker Crackdown; Want His Policies Here

Do you support or oppose Justin Trudeau’s authoritarian crackdown on the freedom convoy truckers in Canada?

This was a question posed in the latest Trafalgar poll.

While most Canadians as well as Americans support the truckers and are in favor of limited government, the Democrats are once again extremely out of touch.

An astonishing 65% of Democrats support Trudeau.

Beyond that, they praise his handling of the trucker convoy and support how the police are treating the peaceful protesters.

As the trucker convoy takes shape in the U.S., this is a stark reminder that Democrats have a double-standard when it comes to protests.

They supported BLM, which burnt down cities.

But they have absolutely no tolerance for workers who are peacefully sitting in their trucks.

Don’t forget that Trudeau has appeared to suggest he looks up to Castro.

He appears to admire the communist Chinese state.

So it’s no surprise that his behavior has been reminiscent of authoritarian dictators.

But what is surprising is that 65% of Democrats support his actions.

As confirmed by The Daily Wire:

A majority of likely Democratic voters support Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s use of emergency powers to crack down on Freedom Convoy protesters last week.

A new poll from Trafalgar Group and Convention of States Action and provided exclusively to The Daily Wire shows that 55% of likely general election voters disapprove of Trudeau’s handling of the protesters. Thirty-five percent approve of Trudeau’s heavy-handed tactics and 10% said they were unaware of what was happening north of the U.S. border.

Trafalgar Group surveyed 1080 likely general election voters from February 18-20 after Trudeau brought federal, provincial, and local law enforcement into Ottawa to forcibly clear out hundreds of protesters and dozens of vehicles from Parliament Hill and surrounding areas. The poll’s margin of error is 3%.

Democrats overwhelmingly favored Trudeau’s response with 65% approval to 17% disapproval. Republican responses were weighted even more heavily against Trudeau, however, with 87% of likely GOP voters disapproving to just 8% approving. Respondents who said they did not belong to either one of the two main parties cut against Trudeau’s crackdown with 74% disapproving versus 21% approving.

Aside from Democrats, the only other demographic areas identified in the poll that cut in Trudeau’s favor are the ages 65 and older category and among blacks and Hispanics. Every other demographic – men, women, Asian, white, younger age groups – disapproved of Trudeau’s handling of the protesters.

The largest difference in approval versus disapproval took place among 25 to 34-year-olds. In that age group, 100% of respondents disapproved of Trudeau’s tactics.

Trudeau has clearly crossed a line.

He is now drawing condemnation from people around the globe who still believe in freedom.

Trudeau is now a full fledged FASCIST.

What’s astonishing is that Trudeau’s crackdown is extremely unpopular in the United States.

Virtually every demographic appears to be against Trudeau…. with the exception of Democrats.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s response to the ongoing protest by truckers in the country’s capital city of Ottawa, Ontario, is negatively viewed by most voters in the United States, according to a new poll from the Convention of States Action and The Trafalgar Group.

The poll shows that just over half of American voters disapprove of Trudeau’s actions, including about three-quarters of independent voters and almost 9-in-10 Republicans. However, most Democrats approve of Trudeau’s response to the protest.

• 55.3% disapprove of Trudeau’s handling of the protest.
• 35.1% approve of Trudeau’s response.
• 9.6% are unaware of the situation.
• 74.4% of independents disapprove, 20.8% approve, 4.8% are unaware.
• 87.3% of Republicans disapprove, 8.1% approve, 4.6% are unaware.
• 65% of Democrats approve, 17.2% disapprove, 17.1% are unaware.
