Joe Biden Targets the Second Amendment by Repeating Debunked Lie

Joe Biden has a hard time with the truth.

He’s not capable of telling it.

Biden once again decided to personally attack the Second Amendment the best way he knows how, by lying.

He repeated a statement that has been fact checked on multiple occasions and deemed false.

“There’s no amendment that’s absolute,” Biden stated.

“You couldn’t by a cannon when this amendment was passed.”

Ah yes, the famous cannon defense.

On at least three occasions since 2020, Biden has falsely claimed that you couldn’t buy a cannon during the early days of our republic.

He has been fact checked every single time, yet he still repeats this lie.

Fox News reports on Biden’s latest lie:

President Joe Biden said Thursday that “no amendment is absolute” while discussing the Second Amendment and repeated a debunked claim that cannons were prohibited when the amendment was passed.

“There’s no violation of the Second Amendment right,” Biden said in New York City while discussing background checks and other ways to address gun crime. “We talk like. There’s no amendment that’s absolute. When the amendment was passed it didn’t say anybody can own a gun, any kind of gun, and any kind of weapon. You couldn’t buy a cannon when this amendment was pa

Biden has been criticized for using the same cannon example in the past and earned “Four Pinocchios” from the Washington Post in 2021 over the claim and also a “False” label from Politifact in 2020.ssed so there’s no reason why you should be able to buy certain assault weapons. But that’s another issue.”

Joe Biden is a liar.

He’s lied in the past.

He’s lying now in the present.

He’ll continue to lie in the future if he’s allowed to.

Townhall has more on Biden’s checkered history of lies:

NATIONAL POLL: Do You Trust Fox News?

Thursday wasn’t the first time President Biden tried to use the off-hand but factually incorrect statement in an attempt to undermine the Second Amendment rights of Americans. On June 23rd, 2021, Biden also claimed that “The Second Amendment, from the day it was passed, limited the type of people who could own a gun and what type of weapon you could own. You couldn’t buy a cannon.” And even before that instance, while campaigning for the presidency on May 21, 2020, Biden said in a video that “You weren’t allowed to own a cannon during the Revolutionary War as an individual.”

It was a lie in May 2020, it was a lie in June 2021 and it was a lie in February 2022. And it’s a lie that Biden is trying to use as a basis, a false precedent of sorts, for his own limits on Americans’ Second Amendment freedoms.

When will anybody hold this man accountable for his lying?
