This is What Noncompliance Looks Like: Italians are Fighting Back Against COVID Tyranny

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone other than the COVID-19 tyrants.

Italians are standing up against these tyrants within their own country.

The mayor of Naples, Italy issued an ordinance banning citizens from using fireworks to celebrate the New Year.

The reasoning?

The mayor didn’t want to risk any fireworks-related injuries that might overwhelm hospitals, which he claimed were already overwhelmed by COVID-19 cases.

Italians responded by having an enormous New Year’s celebration with a major fireworks display!

Protests in the country have continued to be commonplace as well.

On Christmas Day, Italians were still taking to the streets to stand up for their freedom.

They’re not backing down!

These protestors didn't take Christmas day off!

They also didn't quit on New Year's Eve!

This was a direct response to the mayor of Naples, who prohibited any fireworks celebrations this year.

Italy 24 News shared the mayor's ordinance message for fireworks:

Forbidden to shoot i fireworks in Naples a New Year 2022. The mayor Gaetano Manfredi sign theorder for the Neapolitan capital, where the rite of the explosion of “barrels” is very common in popular tradition. The “ban on the use of fireworks, firecrackers, barrels, rockets and similar pyrotechnic devices” will be in force throughout the city from 4.00 pm tomorrow, Friday 31 December 2021, until midnight on Saturday 1 January 2022. For those who violate the ordinance they are provided fines of up to 500 euros, in addition to the seizure of the material. The ordinance is aimed at avoiding new admissions to hospitals already in trouble for those infected with Coronavirus, underline sources of Palazzo San Giacomo, and would be the first of this type because it also bans legal barrels. Controls will be entrusted to the police, already engaged in anti-Covid19 checks. But it is conceivable that it will not be easy to enforce the ban on fireworks.

This is what noncompliance looks like.

Let freedom ring!
