Jussie Smollett Sued For $130,000!

Faking a hate crime is not a victimless crime, neither is making false claims.

Both of these things are very serious and end up either directly affecting others, causing damage to the broader society as a whole or both.

Jussie Smollett is one such boy who cried wolf…..

I won’t recount Smollett’s tale here—we are all familiar with what he did and how he was recently found guilty of faking hate crimes.

Now the latest reports confirm that Jussie Smollett has been sued by Chicago’s police for roughly $130,000 to account for all the wasted time and man power required to investigate the hoax that he perpetrated:

The Post Millennial reports:

In a July 2019 legal filing from the department, they stated that more than two dozen cops spent weeks investigating the Smollett’s claims, logging 1,836 overtime hours in the process.

“The City filed a civil lawsuit against Jussie Smollett to recover costs incurred by the Chicago Police Department investigating what the City believed to be Smollett’s false police reports that he was a victim of a hate crime,” a statement from the city said.

Daily Mail confirmed:

The city was faced with a $130,106.15 overtime tab and has since confirmed that it will press ahead with its lawsuit against Smollett to reclaim the cash.

Their chances of a win or settlement are now all but guaranteed in the wake of the star’s conviction.

A lawsuit filed against Smollett’s legal team by the Nigeran brothers Smollett hired to attack him also stands.
