We have a very sad story to report today….

After two week long search through the mountains in Kittitas County, Washington a missing fire chief deputy has been found dead.

Deputy Fire Chief Jay Schreckengos of Seattle was found dead two weeks after embarking on a hunting trip.

Schreckengos went missing on November 2nd and his body was found on November 16th about a half mile away from where his pick up truck was parked while hunting.

As of right now his cause of death has not been revealed but police believe there was no foul play involved.

Fox News had more on the story:

A high-ranking official at the Seattle Fire Department was found dead Sunday, concluding a nearly two-week-long search after he failed to return from a hunting trip in central Washington.

Seattle Deputy Fire Chief Jay Schreckengost, 56, was found dead in the mountains near Cliffdell in Kittitas County on Sunday evening, just about a half-mile from the spot where his pickup truck was parked on Nov. 2, the day he went hunting. There was no preliminary evidence of suspicious activity or foul play, according to the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office, which had led the massive search effort.

In the 12 days since Schreckengost failed to return from scouting for elk, he had been the subject of a search involving 60 different agencies and organizations and thousands of hours from professional and trained volunteer searchers, the sheriff’s office said. The Seattle Fire Department said 160 of its members had traveled to the site in Washington, “determined to find our beloved member.”

CBS got the scoop too:

The body of Seattle Deputy Fire Chief Jay Schreckengost was found Sunday afternoon in the mountains near Cliffdell, Washington, after a 12-day search. Schreckengost, 56, had gone elk hunting and was last heard from on November 2. His body was found about a half-mile from where his pickup was parked, according to the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said there was no preliminary evidence of foul play. More than 60 different agencies and 160 Seattle Fire Department members assisted in the search “determined to find our beloved member,” the fire department said.

Kittitas County Sheriff Clay Myers said in a Facebook post, “We’re saddened to give news of Chief Schreckengost’s passing to his family and fellow firefighters.”

Hopefully investigators can find out the truth behind his death so Chief Schreckengost’s family will have closure.

So what is the potential WeLoveTrump connection?

When we saw the picture of Chief Schreckengost our eyes jumped immediately to his hat.

We are not in ANY way looking to make this story about us, but the hat jumped off the page when we saw it.

You see, we have been giving these hats away for a long time to our readers.

In fact, it is probably the #1 most popular hat we’ve ever given away.

So when we saw the picture our hearts sank knowing he was likely one of our readers.

Rest in peace Chief, you are EXACTLY the kind of person we are so proud to call a reader of WeLoveTrump and you are EXACTLY the kind of person America needs right now.

We need a lot more like you.

So sorry to his family for their loss.
