Ninth Person Dead From Critical Injuries Sustained At Astroworld Concert

Bharti Shahani, 22, is now the 9th victim killed in the deadly crowd surge that took place at Travis Scott’s concert at Astroworld, November 5th, 2021 in Houston TX.

She was pronounced brain dead Tuesday and passed away on Wednesday.

According to the reports, she was trampled on by the crowd and suffered multiple heart attacks.

It is alleged she went without oxygen for 7 minutes and 10 minutes on separate occasions, during her heart attacks at the concert.

According to her cousin, when she received medical care, her brain stem was swollen to 90%, ultimately leading to her brain death and eventual death.

She was a 22 year old college student, a sister, a daughter and an extremely bright young woman with an amazing future ahead of her. She achieved high grades and was very close to graduating at Texas A&M University.

Astroworld victim Bharti Shahani has died, according to the family’s attorney.

Shahani is the 9th victim killed in a reported crowd surge that happened at Travis Scott’s Astroworld. She passed away Wednesday.

The 22-year-old, who was set to graduate from Texas A&M University, had been hospitalized after the mass casualty incident and had not shown any brain activity since obtaining injuries at the concert, according to reports.

Scott was performing on stage during the surge and has since faced criticism for allowing the show to continue while people were struggling in the crowd.

The rapper claims he didn’t know the severity of the situation.

Authorities have opened a criminal investigation but have not yet assigned any fault.

Speaking to ABC13, the family previously laid out the horrific chain of events that put Shahani in peril. She and her sister, Namrata, and their cousin, Mohit Bellani, attended the concert together but lost each other in the crowd surge that led to injuries and turned the situation deadly.

“Once one person fell, people started toppling like dominos. It was like a sinkhole. People were falling on top of each other,” Bellani told the outlet. “There were like layers of bodies on the ground, like two people thick. We were fighting to come up to the top and breathe to stay alive.”

Doctors told Shahani’s family that the 22-year-old experienced multiple heart attacks during the crowd surge, according to ABC13.

“I think she lost oxygen for 10 minutes one time and seven minutes at another time,” Shahani’s cousin Mohit Bellani told the ABC News affiliate. “So her brain stem was swollen to like 90 percent almost.”

Bellani, who attended the concert with Shahani, described the chaotic scene as a “sinkhole.”

She added, “I want people to understand what we experienced and to make sure nothing like this ever, ever happens to anyone ever again.”

Scott is facing multiple lawsuits from those affected by the casualty, including one from an attendee who dubbed the incident a “predictable and preventable tragedy.”

The families of Shahani and EB have set up GoFundMe pages to help cover their medical costs.

Regardless of what you believe what happened that night, whether it be satanic rituals, a crazed person running around injecting people with fentanyl, or people flat out being horrible and trampling on others, this could’ve been stopped.

The people in the crowd were shouting “STOP THE SHOW” and he CONTINUED THE SHOW.

This is unbelievable.
