Vermont is Giving Condoms to 12 Year Olds?

What has the world come to? Vermont Schools are now required to pass out condoms to children 12 years of age and up. Accelerating the woke left’s agenda and promoting children to ask questions about “gender identity and sexuality” completely negating Christian values.

From our friends at Welsh2 :

This school year, all Vermont students in grades 7 through 12 gained access to free condoms in school.

Gov. Phil Scott signed the new program into law in 2020, and now the rollout is officially complete.

In order to prevent or reduce unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases, each school district shall make condoms available to all students in its secondary schools, free of charge. At a minimum, condoms shall be placed in locations that are safe and readily accessible to students, including the school nurse’s office.

But what is this REALLY about? Directly from Vermont’s department of education’s website:

As the law states, “Schools are required to provide information about proper condom use that is inclusive of gender identity, sexuality and ethnicity,” in an effort to “prevent or reduce unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases.”

Excuse me? “Inclusive of gender identity, sexuality and ethnicity.” What does that have to do with safe sex? Absolutely nothing. There are two genders and two genders only. My opinion, this is just another angle and subtle way for the school system to pursue their woke agenda.

More, from Vermont’s department of education’s website:

This law states:

In order to prevent or reduce unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases, each school district shall make condoms available to all students in its secondary schools, free of charge. School district administrative teams, in consultation with school district nursing staff, shall determine the best manner in which to make condoms available to students. At a minimum, condoms shall be placed in locations that are safe and readily accessible to students, including the school nurse’s office. (Added 2019, No. 157 (Adj. Sess.), § 4, eff. July 1, 2021.)

Secondary school is defined as a “program of public-school education of six years, grades 7-12, adapted to the needs of students who have completed their elementary education.”

Results from the 2019 Vermont Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS), which is an anonymous survey distributed to middle and high school students about a wide range of health topics, showed that 40% of high school students have had sexual intercourse. This is an average across all grades and the percentage rises with each grade from 18% in 9th grade to ~60% in 12th grade.

Are some 12 year olds having sexual intercourse WAY too soon? Yes. And would we as a society rather them be safe than sorry? Yes. HOWEVER, the problem with this is, the more we preach “Safe Sex for Children,” the more we normalize the last part of that sentence, “Sex for Children.”

This leads to an even bigger issue beyond normalizing the corruption of our children’s innocence and youth. This opens up Pandora’s box for a whole new set of issues that come along with that. Which is exactly what we are seeing today with kids “not knowing what gender they are” and “not knowing which gender they’re attracted to.” Completely alienating Christian values.

By the way, as a kicker, Planned Parenthood is providing these free condoms to the schools. That means YOU, the taxpayer, are now paying for 12 year olds to have condoms.
