George Floyd Statue Vandalized, The Left Suddenly Cares About Statues

A statue of George Floyd in Union Square Park was vandalized on Sunday.

Video showed an identified man on a skateboard throwing silver paint on the statue and then leaving the scene.

This is the second time the statue has been vandalized.

It was vandalized just days after it was revealed in Brooklyn back in June.

The statue had only been in Union Square Park for just a few days before this incident as well.

Wouldn’t you know it…

The left has suddenly decided that it cares about statues.

Here's more details on the incident from the New York Post:

The George Floyd memorial statue in Union Square was vandalized by a skateboarder who doused it in silver paint Sunday morning, cops said.

Police obtained video that shows the male vandal ducking behind a nearby statue of the late Rep. John Lewis and fiddling with something in his backpack around 10 a.m., a police spokesman said.

The footage shows him then taking off on his skateboard while throwing the paint on Floyd’s bust, the spokesman said. Police are not planning on releasing the video, he said.

A photo posted on Twitter shows what appears to be silver paint splattered on the statue that was also defaced days after it was first unveiled on Juneteenth in East Flatbush, Brooklyn.

Of course, this isn't the first time the statue has been vandalized.

In June, just five days after it was revealed, it was covered in paint.

AP News has more details on that incident:

Sunday’s act wasn’t the first example of vandalism to the statue memorializing Floyd, whose killing at the hands of police in Minneapolis last year galvanized a racial justice movement across the country.

The statue was unveiled on the Juneteenth holiday in a spot on Flatbush Avenue, in Brooklyn, and it was vandalized five days later with black paint and marked with an alleged logo of a white supremacist group.

Members of the group that installed the statue cleaned it, and local residents and one of Floyd’s brothers gathered in July as it was prepared to move to Union Square, in the heart of Manhattan.

The Race-Baiting Left is Outraged

The left is being called out for suddenly caring about statues.

Others are also questioning why Floyd had one to begin with:
