Ten time world champion in boxing Oscar De La Hoya has been hospitalized after contracting Covid-19.

Like many others Oscar De La Hoya contracted Covid-19 despite being fully vaccinated.

Hoya took to Twitter and filmed himself in his hospital bed saying “what are the chances of getting Covid?”.

He ended his Tweet by stating he would not be able to fight in his upcoming comeback fight on September 11th.

We are told again and again if we just be quiet and get vaccinated everything will be alright but statistics are showing that thousands of people who are fully vaccinated are having breakthrough cases.

The Daily Mail had more on the story:

Oscar De La Hoya has withdrawn from his upcoming comeback fight after being hospitalized with COVID-19.

The 48-year-old revealed his diagnosis on Friday – eight days before he was scheduled to step into the ring to take on former UFC champion Vitor Belfort at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

De La Hoya announced he had contracted the coronavirus despite being fully vaccinated.

He shared a video to Twitter from his hospital bed accompanied by a caption which read: ‘I wanted you to hear directly from me that despite being fully vaccinated, I have contracted COVID and am not going to be able to fight next weekend.

‘Preparing for this comeback has been everything to me over the last months, & I want to thank everyone for their tremendous support.’

He added: ‘I am currently in the hospital getting treatment and am confident I will be back in the ring before the year is up. God bless everyone and stay safe.’

In his clip, De La Hoya appeared to be having trouble breathing, before he looked directly into the camera and stated: ‘What are the chances of me getting COVID? I’ve been taking care of myself and this really, really kicked my a**’.

Fox News got the scoop too:

Oscar De La Hoya announced Friday he contracted coronavirus and was in the hospital receiving treatment, and that he had to pull out of his upcoming fight against Vitor Belfort.

De La Hoya, 48, posted a video of himself on Twitter in a hospital bed. He said he contracted the illness despite being fully vaccinated.

“Wanted you to hear directly from me that despite being fully vaccinated, I have contracted Covid and am not going to be able to fight next weekend. Preparing for this comeback has been everything to me over the last months, & I want to thank everyone for their tremendous support,” he tweeted.

“I am currently in the hospital getting treatment and am confident I will be back in the ring before the year is up. God bless everyone and stay safe.”

Liberal cities that are issuing mandates that force businesses and restaurants to ask patrons for vaccination proof should take a look at Oscar De La Hoya.
