Far-Left Tries to Cancel The Fourth of July and Replace with “Juneteenth”

Unfortunately, the far-Left progressives are unable to unify under a national holiday.

Instead of celebrating the birthday of our great country, the far-Left uses this as an opportunity to push the “minority oppression” narrative.

Maxine Waters gave a barely coherent ramble on Twitter where the race card was in full effect.

For Maxine Waters, only “white men” were created equal in 1776.

In her Fourth of July ramble, she then ties this to the recent “voter suppression” (aka election integrity) laws passed.

Further, the Dec. of Ind. says we hold these truths to be "self-evident"… yet:
– 17 states have enacted voter suppression laws
– Supreme Court gutted Sec. 5 of the Voting Rights Act
– George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Michael Brown, Sandra Bland, Tamir Rice

“The Squad” members seemed to follow Waters and bash America.

Cori Bush, a progressive Democrat from St. Louis, sounded the oppression as well, saying that the land in America was stolen and Black people still aren’t free:

When they say that the 4th of July is about American freedom, remember this: the freedom they’re referring to is for white people.

The NYPost has more on these odd and disgraceful displays of patriotism this Fourth of July:

Far-left Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.), dismissed Independence Day Sunday as a holiday meant for white people before claiming: “This land is stolen land and Black people still aren’t free.”

“When they say that the 4th of July is about American freedom, remember this: the freedom they’re referring to is for white people,” tweeted Bush, a member of the progressive “Squad” of lawmakers that includes Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

Bush, a Black Lives Matter activist who unseated longtime Rep. William Lacy Clay in a primary to represent her heavily Democratic district last year, previously used last month’s signing of legislation making Juneteenth a federal holiday to push for reparations for slavery and defunding law enforcement.

“It’s Juneteenth AND reparations. It’s Juneteenth AND end police violence + the War on Drugs. It’s Juneteenth AND end housing + education apartheid. It’s Juneteenth AND teach the truth about white supremacy in our country,” she tweeted on June 17. “Black liberation in its totality must be prioritized.”

Bush’s July 4 tweet drew immediate backlash from social media users on the right and on the left.

“You make $175k a year of taxpayer money to rip the country’s people that pay your salary,” tweeted radio host Clay Travis. “Show me any unfree country in the world where that’s possible. You can’t.”

“I’m a 40-year-old American descendent of slaves,” tweeted author and cultural critic Thomas Chatterton Williams. “The year is 2021, and I have been ‘free’ my entire life.”

“America is so awesome even people who aren’t free can get elected to the United States Congress!” chimed in Georgia radio host Erick Erickson. “America F— Yeah!”

Also Sunday, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) posted a rambling tweet diminishing the holiday.

“July 4th… & so, the Declaration of Independence says all men are created equal. Equal to what? What men? Only white men? Isn’t it something that they wrote this in 1776 when African Americans were enslaved? They weren’t thinking about us then, but we’re thinking about us now!”

In a follow-up tweet, Waters wrote: “Further, the Dec. of Ind. says we hold these truths to be “self-evident”… yet: -17 states have enacted voter suppression laws -Supreme Court gutted Sec. 5 of the Voting Rights Act -George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Michael Brown, Sandra Bland, Tamir Rice. Need I say more?”

Former MSNBC host Toure echoed Bush’s statement, tweeting: “F–k Independence Day. Not only were we not free, the whole reason the Colonies wanted independence was because Britain was moving toward abolishing slavery. Why would Black people celebrate a day so wrapped up in our enslavement?” Toure included a link to an opinion piece he penned for the website The Grio headlined: “F–k Fourth of July: The only independence day I recognize is Juneteenth.”

Glenn Beck from The Blaze warned on his show that Juneteeth had been taken over by the “woke Left” to try and replace our nation’s birthday:

“Texans have been celebrating Juneteenth for years now, but Glenn Beck believes the new national holiday, which celebrates the emancipation of former American slaves, has been hijacked by the “woke Left.”

On the radio program Tuesday, Glenn said the actual meaning of Juneteenth was not what he saw commemorated this past weekend. Some even chose to celebrate by twerking against an ambulance, both preventing EMTs from tending to gunshot victims and also proving America’s shame is nearly nonexistent today. But, maybe even worse, the woke Left is now trying to pit Juneteenth against what is perhaps our nation’s greatest day of unification: the Fourth of July.

“We’ve been telling you about a little thing called Juneteenth, for I don’t know, maybe 15 years now,” Glenn said. “And no one in the media gave a flying crap about it. But now they’re all oh-so-woke. Oh, my gosh. They’re so woke and they have found Juneteenth…. I wish it was at all sincere. Don’t you? Don’t you wish that just a little bit of their discovery was actually sincere?”

“Juneteenth, I think is a great holiday. And I don’t know why people have to denigrate Juneteenth … except for the fact, that I think a lot of people understood exactly what this was: the latest Marxist move to separate us even further. You either celebrate Juneteenth as liberation day, or you celebrate July 4th, which is just a white day. Nowhere in the history of Juneteenth is that true,” he continued.

“This is a great holiday, but not a replacement for the Fourth of July, and that’s exactly what it’s becoming,” Glenn went on to say. “Don’t tell me that I don’t care about Juneteenth when I see the celebrations that happened around this country that were an absolute disgrace, and proof positive that shame will never come back to our society.”

It would make sense that the “woke Left” wants to cancel anything that promotes unity within our country.

Will Democrats speak out to separate themselves from the radical Left’s anti-American agenda?

Or is being anti-American part of the new Democrat agenda under Biden?

As far as true patriots who love this country are concerned, no one can cancel The Fourth of July from us!
