The old saying goes money doesn’t buy happiness and in Bill Gates’s situation, it doesn’t buy a lasting marriage either.
Bill and Melinda Gates have decided to call it quits after 27 years of marriage.
In a joint statement the couple said “After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage,”.
They also stated that they will still continue to work together at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Bill and Melinda Gates announced on Monday they were ending their 27-year marriage.
“After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage,” they said in a joint statement. “Over the last 27 years, we have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives.”
The couple in 2000 founded the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a private philanthropic organization which funds research and advocacy work across the globe, including in some of the world’s most impoverished nations.
The foundation has given billions to support issues like global health, development and education, as well as combating climate change and the Covid-19 pandemic.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and his wife of 27 years Melinda Gates said in a statement on Monday that they intended to end their marriage.
“After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage,” the pair said in a statement. “We ask for space and privacy for our family as we begin to navigate this new life.”
The pair have run the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation together for more than 20 years and have three children together.
They said they intended to continue to work together on the foundation and still held a shared belief in the mission of helping people across the world. The foundation focuses on improving health outcomes and lifting people out of poverty.
