Huge news just came out of South Carolina!
Republican Gov. Henry McMaster of South Carolina has just signed a bill that would ban almost all abortions in South Carolina.
McMaster signed a bill called the “South Carolina Fetal Heartbeat and Protection from Abortion Act,” which prevents abortions if a baby’s heartbeat can be detected.
Most times a baby’s heartbeat can be found at 6 to 8 weeks so the lives that will be saved from this new bill will be countless.
It’s about time someone fights for the unborn.
BREAKING: South Carolina becomes the 12th state to ban abortion after a child's heartbeat can be detected.
This is a great step forward for human rights. https://t.co/Pp9KOZrz4r

The Hill got the full scoop, see what they had to share:
South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster (R) on Thursday signed a bill into law that would ban most abortions in the state, the latest state to enact stringent abortion restrictions.
The new law, dubbed the “South Carolina Fetal Heartbeat and Protection from Abortion Act,” prohibits abortions if a fetal heartbeat can be detected and mandates that doctors conduct an ultrasound before performing an abortion to see if a heartbeat can be detected. The law contains exceptions for a fetus that is conceived by rape or incest, or if the mother’s life is in jeopardy.
Fetal heartbeats can be detected six to eight weeks into a pregnancy, sometimes before a woman is even aware she is pregnant.
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina’s governor on Thursday signed a law banning most abortions, one of his top priorities since he took office more than four years ago. Planned Parenthood immediately sued, effectively preventing the measure from taking effect.

Fox Carolina covered the story too:
As South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster signed a bill banning most abortions into law into law on Thursday, Planned Parenthood said they were drafting a lawsuit to contest the strict legislation.
“Today is the big day,” McMaster said as he stood surrounded by members of the General Assembly at the State House before signing the Fetal Heartbeat Bill.
The SC House passed the bill on a 79-35 vote Wednesday and gave it one final procedural vote Thursday before sending it to McMaster. The bill passed in the state senate in late January.
The bill requires doctors to perform ultrasounds to check for a heartbeat in the fetus before an abortion can be performed. If a heartbeat is detected, the procedure can only take place if the pregnancy was caused by rape or incest, or the mother’s life is in danger.
This is a big win for America’s soul!
A big win!
Hopefully, more states will do the same.
