Drain the swamp!
This is something that President Trump started, but could not finish. He was so busy fulfilling all of his other campaign promises to voters, and let’s be real here; it would have taken a very long time.
Longer than four years, maybe longer than eight years.
It is after all, a very large and deep swamp.
Newsmax anchor Greg Kelly recently renewed the calls for term limits; the one thing we as Americans desperately need in our government right now.
I am not saying it is going to solve all of our problems, but it will solve a lot of them!
Take a look:
A poll conducted by McLaughlin & Associates found:
The results of our recently completed national survey show that voters overwhelmingly believe in implementing term limits on members of Congress. Support for term limits is broad and strong across all political, geographic and demographic groups. An overwhelming 82% of voters approve of a Constitutional Amendment that will place term limits on members of Congress. Four-in-five voters believe that it is important for President Trump to keep his promise to support term limits for members of Congress by calling on Congress to vote for term limits, the majority of voters, 54%, believe it is very important for the President to keep his promise.
During his campaign for President, Donald Trump promised that he would support term limits for members of Congress, how important is it for President Trump to keep his promise to support term limits for members of Congress by calling on Congress to vote for term limits.Nearly three-in-four voters, 73%, are more likely to vote for a candidate for U.S. Congress who supports implementing term limits on Congress, 42%, are much more likely.
The Houston Chronicle reported:
Texas U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz wants to place term limits on members of Congress, an idea that has long appealed to people across the political divide who have grown skeptical of the current crop of professional politicians.
But even if Cruz's amendment to the U.S. Constitution were somehow enacted by the current Congress and the states – a long-shot at best – it would not bar him from running for a third or even fourth term in the Senate.
Nor would it bar fellow Texas Republican John Cornyn from running for a fourth Senate term in 2020.That's because terms beginning before final ratification would not count. Cruz and Florida U.S. Rep. Francis Rooney, a Republican, introduced an amendment last week to limit U.S. senators to two six-year terms and members of the U.S. House of Representatives to three two-year terms.
