Charles Barkley: “We Need To Stop The Defund Or Abolish The Police Crap.”

Charles Barkley is never afraid to share his opinion.

Former NBA player and now an analyst for NBA on  TNT  said: “we need to stop the defund or abolish the police crap”.

He then went on to say “who are black people supposed to call Ghost Busters when we have crime in our neighborhood?”

Charles Barkley is completely going against the “woke” narrative.

Charles Barkley also received backlash for stating the truth about the Breonna Taylor case.

He stated the fact that Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend shot a cop which resulted in the cops firing back.

Fox News covered Barkley’s statements on TNT and reported this:

Charles Barkley reacted to the Breonna Taylor indictment decision during a broadcast before an NBA playoff game on Thursday — and also dismissed calls to defund the police.

Barkley said on the “NBA on TNT” broadcast that Taylor’s death cannot be put in the same category as those of George Floyd or Ahmaud Arbery.

“It’s bad this young lady lost her life,” Barkley said of Taylor. “But we do have to take into account that her boyfriend did shoot at the cops and shot a cop.

The former NBA All-Star went on to say that defunding the police was a bad idea.

“You know, I hear these fools on TV talking about ‘defund the police’ and things like that.

Who are Black people supposed to call — Ghostbusters? — when we have crime in our neighborhoods? We need police reform. Like I say, White people — especially rich White people — they’re always gonna have cops, so we need to stop that ‘defund’ or ‘abolish the cops’ crap,” he said.

Liberals were triggered at Barkley’s comments.

Market Watch covered the story too:

Barkley, speaking with host Ernie Johnson and fellow analysts Kenny Smith and Shaquille O’Neal, expanded on his remark by explaining why he is not a fan of the “Defund the Police” movement, which calls generally for some funds to be redirected to social and other services to tackle problems that today’s police forces are less equipped to handle, though some municipalities have considered disbanding and reconstituting their police departments entirely.

“I hear fools on TV talking about ‘Defund the Police’ and things like that, [and] we need police reform and prison reform and things like that. Because you know who ain’t gonna defund the cops? White neighborhoods and rich neighborhoods,” Barkley claimed. “Who are black people supposed to call, Ghostbusters?”

Not everyone gave Barkley backlash many Conservatives gave him praise.
