The left claims they’re standard-bearers of morality.
They argue conservatives are immoral because we don’t like big welfare programs and don’t support abortion.
Yet the left seems to have no issues with sexualizing children.
By now, you’ve probably seen the huge controversy over Netflix’s show calle Cuties.
The show features 11-year old girls in scantily clad outfits, gyrating on stage while adults watch.
It’s truly disgusting.
And as Fox News reports, some Republicans are asking the DOJ to investigate and take action against Netflix:
Lawmakers in Washington, most of them Republicans, called Friday for the Justice Department to take legal action against Netflix for streaming the highly controversial film “Cuties” — claiming the comedy-drama sexualizes young children and “serves as fodder for pedophiles.”
The critics included U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., and U.S. Rep. Jim Banks, R-Ind. — as well as U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii.
“There’s no excuse for the sexualization of children, and Netflix’s decision to promote the film ‘Cuties’ is disgusting at best and a serious crime at worst,” Cotton told the Daily Caller. “I urge the Department of Justice to take action against Netflix for their role in pushing explicit depictions of children into American homes.”
The film, centered on an 11-year-old Senegalese immigrant living in Paris, is the debut work of French director Maïmouna Doucouré. It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah last year and earned Doucouré a best directing award.
In the film, the main character, Amy, ends up joining a clique of girls who call themselves the “Cuties” – and perform highly provocative and eroticized dance numbers while scantily clad – as a way of rebelling against her conservative Muslim parents.
Banks told the Daily Caller he was disturbed by the film as a parent.
“As a father of young daughters, I find it sickening. Not only is this movie fodder for pedophiles, it encourages very young girls to defy their parents’ wishes and share pornographic images of themselves with strangers. Our culture has come a long way in recent years, recognizing the power of television, movies and magazines to affect young girls,” he said. “The lessons taught in this film are not ones I want my daughters learning. The DOJ should be readying charges against Netflix for distribution of child pornography.”
What else can we expect from an industry that supported perverts like Harvey Weinstein for so long?
And notice the lack of criticism from Democrats.
They don't seem to have a problem with any of this!
Probably because they don't mind taking money from Hollywood fat cats like Weinstein.
Deadline has more details on those coming out against Netlix for publishing Cuties:
Sen Ted Cruz and Fox News host Laura Ingraham added their voices to the outcry over Cuties, a French indie film that either encourages or critiques the sexualization of pre-pubescent girls, depending on your vantage point.
Cruz is asking the Department of Justice to investigate Netflix over its streaming of the film, which won a prize at Sundance, has been praised by most critics and ardently defended by Netflix. Released theatrically in France and other territories, it arrived last week in the U.S.
“I urge the Department of Justice to investigate the production and distribution of this film,” Cruz wrote in a letter to U.S. Attorney General William Barr, “to determine whether Netflix, its executives, or the individuals involved in the filming and production of ‘Cuties’ violated any federal laws against the production and distribution of child pornography.”Ingraham urged her 3.7 million Twitter followers to cancel Netflix, calling the film “sexual exploitation of girls.”
While most of the critics of the film are Republican, Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard blasted Netflix. Gabbard possibly scorched the most earth with her late-Friday tweet, which garnered 163,000 likes and reinforced the trending hashtag “#CancelNetflix.”
“@netflix child porn ‘Cuties’ will certainly whet the appetite of pedophiles & help fuel the child sex trafficking trade. 1 in 4 victims of trafficking are children. It happened to my friend’s 13 year old daughter. Netflix, you are now complicit.”
