An ex-military man is a suspect in the murder of the Donald Trump supporter in Portland, and is now being investigated after being identified by his own sister.
Michael Forest Reinoehl is being investigated by police for his involvement in the shooting of a member of the group Patriot Prayer.
Reinoehl apparently has open ties with Antifa, as on his Instagram page he says he is “100% Antifa.”
He also claims to be ‘willing to fight’ for his brothers and sisters, and refers to the fight as a ‘war that will have casulties.’
Fox News has the scoop on the suspect:
Portland police are investigating an Oregon man – who was allegedly previously cited for carrying a loaded gun at a different protest – for his potential connection to a fatal shooting at a political rally over the weekend, according to a recent report.
The Oregonian cited sources in reporting that the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) is investigating Michael Forest Reinoehl, 48, for his alleged involvement in the fatal shooting of a supporter of the right-wing group Patriot Prayer.
The victim – later identified by Patriot Prayer founder Joey Gibson as being Aaron “Jay” Danielson – was shot and killed late Saturday in Portland, Ore., as a large caravan of President Donald Trump supporters and Black Lives Matter protesters clashed in the downtown streets, police said.
“Portland Police officers heard sounds of gunfire from the area of Southeast 3rd Avenue and Southwest Alder Street. They responded and located a victim with a gunshot wound to the chest. Medical responded and determined that the victim was deceased,” the PPB said in a statement following the shooting.
On Monday, a spokesperson with PPB would not confirm the Oregonian report and told Fox News that commenting on any information that hasn’t been publicly released could compromise the active homicide investigation.
“I’m aware that there are media reports that contain named individuals, but those details are unconfirmed,” said the spokesperson, Sgt. Kevin Allen, in an email to Fox News. “All verified information is on our website under the news section.”
According to The Oregonian, Reinoehl has identified himself as anti-fascist and, in one post, from June 16, wrote, “I am 100 % ANTIFA all the way!”
“Every Revolution needs people that are willing and ready to fight,” he allegedly wrote, according to the report. “There are so many of us protesters that are just protesting without a clue of where that will lead. That’s just the beginning that’s that where the fight starts. If that’s as far as you can take it thank you for your participation but please stand aside and support the ones that are willing to fight. I am 100 % ANTIFA all the way! I am willing to fight for my brothers and sisters! ... We do not want violence but we will not run from it either! ... Today’s protesters and antifa are my brothers in arms.”
The suspect was interviewed back in July, regarding a separate incident where he was shot in the arm.
The New York Post has more:
An ex-military man who calls himself “100% ANTIFA” and ready for “war” is being investigated over the deadly shooting of a President Trump supporter in Portland, according to a report.
Michael Forest Reinoehl, 48, is being investigated over the death of Aaron Danielson, a “supporter” of the right-wing Patriot Prayer group who was part of a caravan of Trump supporters who flooded the city Saturday, police sources told The Oregonian.
He was identified in part by a distinctive tattoo on his neck of a “black power” fist — as well as a call from his estranged sister who recognized him in video and photos of the deadly attack, the paper said.
The 36-year-old sister — whom The Oregonian agreed not to name — was first alerted after a threatening call that woke her at 8 a.m. Sunday warning that “our whole family was in danger unless we turned him over.”
“We reached out to police and confirmed that we recognized Michael in the screenshots” from the shooting, she told the paper.
The father of two is estranged from most of his family — including his parents — after stealing from them, the sister said.
“On the one hand, this whole thing surprises the daylights out of us, because we always thought he is a lot of bark, not a lot of bite,” she said. “But he’s also been very impulsive and irrational.”
She decried the shooting as “not the solution” to the nation’s problems.
“Violence begets violence and hatred begets hatred. This is not the solution. My heart goes out to the victim. It always has, before I even knew my brother was involved.”
Reinoehl, who has a son and a daughter, regularly posts about Black Lives Matter and the protests on his social media — which is now swamped with threats and pro-Trump messages in the comments.
It is no surprise that Democrats and the media are either ignoring this story completely, or refusing to comment.
Maybe CNN should rethink their position that protesters aren't supposed to be peaceful.
