It looks like there is at least one congressman who thinks it's time to hit 'em where it hurts.
After all, who else has the time besides the unemployed to be protesting full-time?
They would rather riot, steal and loot then get a paying job, I suppose.
Better yet, get the hardworking, tax paying citizens to give you a monthly paycheck!
That's exactly what's happening, but there is one congressman who is trying to put a stop to it.
Read all about it below:
The New York Post reports:
Rioters and looters would lose federal unemployment benefits and be forced to pay for extra policing needed at protests under a new bill being introduced by a military-veteran congressman.
“Antifa thugs are descending on suffering communities, disrupting peaceful protests and leaving violence, looting and vandalism in their wake,” Indiana Rep. Jim Banks said while introducing his “Support Peaceful Protest Act” on Friday.
“They turned Milwaukee, Seattle and Portland into war zones, and now they’re moving the chaos to Kenosha, Wisconsin. Who knows which community is next?” he asked in a statement.
Fox 5 shares more in their report:
“If you’re convicted of a crime that caused more manpower and law enforcement officers to deal with it, then perhaps you should be on the hook to pay for that,” Banks told WIBC-FM in Indianapolis.
Banks said he introduced the bill the day after an older couple who are his constituents were harassed by protesters while leaving President Trump’s nomination acceptance speech at the White House on Thursday evening.
He said many rioters have time to participate in violence because they are unemployed people receiving government benefits -- including increased federal benefits for those who have lost their jobs amid the pandemic.

“What we’re seeing happen in big cities and around the country are angry violent mobs showing up at federal properties, tearing down monuments on federal properties, especially in Washington, D.C. and it’s got to stop,” he said. “What my bill would do is add new consequences to those individuals who are breaking the law.”
93.1FM WIBC also shared more infomation through their interivew:
Banks said in an interview Friday that he posted a picture on his Twitter account of a Ft. Wayne couple, which he describes as leaders in the community, who were at the White House to hear Pres. Trump speak, being accosted by a mob as they left.
“The photo of them leaving…has gone viral on the internet,” he said. “As they left the angry mob got in their face. A violent mobster with both middle fingers in this woman’s face, trying to incite them.”
Banks said the couple kept on walking.
