Mayor of Hobart, IN (Outside Chicago) LEAVES Democratic Party to GOP Over Radical Platform

The #WalkAway campaign continues…

Now, the Mayor of Hobart, Brian Snedecor, has officially announced that he is LEAVING the Democratic party.

He will officially switch to the GOP.

Why?

He is concerned about the Democrat's RADICAL national platform!

Part of what makes this so notable is that Hobart, IN is just 40 miles away from Chicago.

It is considered a "suburb," despite the distance.

Surely seeing the destruction in Chicago is part of what lead him to walk away.

More details below:

Over the last year, many prominent leaders in the Democratic party have left and joined the GOP.

In instances where they haven't left the party (like Democratic Georgia Rep Vernon Jones), they've endorsed President Trump as a democratic!

According to the local NWI Times:

Mayor Brian Snedecor has joined the Republican Party.

Surrounded by family, elected officials and supporters, Snedecor became emotional as he made the announcement Wednesday at Festival Park.

“I must be true to my God, my family, myself and those that have supported and believed in me,” Snedecor said. “So today I am formally announcing that I am leaving the Democratic Party and that I am joining the Republican party.”

Snedecor said his leadership won’t be altered after switching political parties. He promised to remain vigilant to the city’s needs and to continue working to make Hobart a safe, strong and thriving community.

“Although my party has changed, my concern, care and love for the citizens of Hobart has not,” Snedecor said. “I want Hobart to be a place for business to come and the American Dream to be achieved.”

Snedecor, who is serving his fourth consecutive term in office, said work to enhance the community will be collaborative.

“I am truly honored to serve with a fantastic and dedicated group of councilmen and (Clerk-Treasurer Deb Longer),” Snedecor said.

He said his decision to join the Republican Party comes after changes within the Democratic Party.

Snedecor said when he first ran for the mayor’s office 13 years ago, the views and platforms of the national Democratic Party were modern, conservative and appealed to many “to make the nation special.”

He said he’s become increasingly concerned during the last several months as the national Democratic platform has moved “more and more to the left.”

“The efforts of the progressive left have driven many people, moderates and conservatives, away from the Democratic Party,” Snedecor said.

Snedecor said he took plenty of time to reflect on the situation before chose how he would proceed.

“My decision and announcement has not been quick, rash or without contemplation,” he said.

Many prominent officials, including Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch, attended Wednesday’s announcement to support Snedecor.

The Republican party has appeared to welcome Snedecor with open arms!

This is an encouraging sign for Republicans.

It is no secret that the Demoratic party has become more radical over the years.

Local WBIW News confirms that the Indiana Republican Party is thrilled over the news:

Indiana Republican Party Chairman Kyle Hupfer welcomed Hobart Mayor Brian Snedecor to the GOP today. Mayor Snedecor’s dissatisfaction with the direction of national Democrats led to his announcement last night. Snedecor brings the statewide Republican mayoral count to 71, the most mayor offices the party has held at one time in state history.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Mayor Snedecor to our party,” said Hupfer. “The Republican tent continues to grow and we couldn’t be more excited to have Brian’s leadership, experience, and commitment to his city and to his constituents on our team. Brian finds a welcome home in the Indiana Republican Party.”

“I must be true to my God, my family, myself, and those that have supported and believed in me. So today I am formally announcing that I am leaving the Democratic Party and that I am joining the Republican party,” Snedecor said.

Mayor Snedecor cited the radical leftward shift of the Democrat Party as a catalyst for switching parties.

“The efforts of the progressive left have driven many people, moderates, and conservatives, away from the Democratic Party,” Snedecor added.

Hopefully more people wake up and realize what Sndedcor did: that the Democratic party is an increasingly radical far-left country.

We must vote for President Trump to protect and defend our republic!
