White House Economic Advisor Peter Navarro Accuses Beijing of Knowingly Spreading COVID-19 in the U.S.

Democrats like to blame President Trump for COVID-19.

The reality, though, is that Trump took strong and decisive action to slow the spread of COVID-19 within our borders.

He shut down the borders with China, for example, long before any other politician thought to do so.

The Washington Examiner reports that White House economic advisor Peter Navarro is also placing the blame on China:

White House economic adviser Peter Navarro claimed that the Chinese government knowingly allowed people who had contracted the coronavirus to travel overseas before the virus was declared a pandemic.

Navarro, who is on the coronavirus response team for the White House, sparred with Ali Velshi in a Saturday afternoon interview on MSNBC about the Chinese Communist Party's role in spreading the virus as COVID-19 cases again spike in places around the United States.

"I want everybody right here today, as the day before America’s Independence Day, to understand where this virus started — with the Chinese Communist Party that is making us stay locked in our homes and lose our jobs. They spawned the virus. They hid the virus. They sent hundreds of thousands of Chinese nationalists over here to seed and spread the virus," Navarro said.

Velshi challenged Navarro's assertion, asking him to explain his claim about the hundreds of thousands of Chinese nationals.

"Here’s the point: While they were preventing any domestic travel from Wuhan to Beijing or Shanghai, locking down their transportation network, they freely sent hundreds of thousands of Chinese nationals on aircraft to go around the world," the White House adviser explained before the host interjected again.

There is evidence that China covered up the coronavirus's spread, muzzled whistleblowers, intimidated doctors, misled the World Health Organization, and blocked outside health experts. In April, the U.S. intelligence community reportedly believed that the Chinese Communist Party downplayed the outbreak and that China continued to mislead the world. Just this week, the World Health Organization backtracked on its assertion that the Chinese government alerted the United Nations agency about the coronavirus outbreak.

China has denied orchestrating a cover-up, accusing other countries of politicizing the pandemic.

Navarro stressed that it's clear that China undeniably shut down their own transportation network, while allowing thousands of infected citizens to leave the country.

The reality is that COVID-19 started in China... and spread from China... to infect the rest of the world.

Despite COVID-19, Americans are practicing their freedom to exercise personal responsibility.

While many countries are still mandating scrict lockdowns, Americans are safely and responsibly returning to work.

As President Trump has often said, we cannot let the cure be worse than the virus itself!

The Chinese Communist Party needs to be held accountable for its role in eroding democracy in both the U.S. and Hong Kong, White House Trade Advisor Peter Navarro asserted Saturday.

In an interview on "Fox & Friends Weekend" with host Pete Hegseth, Navarro urged Americans to "unite around" the fact that the Chinese Communist Party lied about the spread of coronavirus leading to the deaths of Americans.

"It's over 130,000 Americans so far, Pete. And, do you know what? There is nothing on that death certificate that has party affiliation. The cause of death is the ‘China virus,'" he accused.

According to data from the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, there are now almost 2.8 million confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States and just shy of 130,000 deaths.

Navarro said he believed that "anger" over the lockdowns, "anxiousness" about an uncertain economic future, and "fear of getting the virus" has led to disunity and national unrest.

"And then, you’ve got these radical elements that want to basically have another Chinese Cultural Revolution to destroy our culture, our habits, our customs, our ideas," he added. "What Mao called the [Four Olds]."

"And, what we have to do is unite around this central fact: China lied; people died. The CCP lied; Americans died," Navarro reiterated.

In order to do so, he told Hegseth that Americans need to unite on "literally making [the Chinese Communist Party] pay for that."

"They also have to come clean on exactly what they’ve been doing with that virus. Is it an engineered virus, for example? Or did it simply slip out of a lab? Where did it come from?" he asked, referencing other virus origin theories. "Until we know the answer to those questions, we won't know how to fight this virus."

Navarro then shifted his focus to Hong Kong. On Tuesday, Beijing tightened its grip on the former British colony by passing a contentious security law that critics say undermines the semi-autonomous territory’s judicial independence.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke out against China’s power grab in a statement shortly before reports of the bill's approval.

“If China wants to regain the trust of Hong Kongers and the international community, it should honor the promises it made to the Hong Kong people and to the United Kingdom in the U.N.-registered 1984 Sino-British Joint Declaration,” his statement read.

Several conservatives have openly pondered trying to get China to forgive our debt.

While that might sound far-fetched, many leaders are acknowledging the fact that this virus has done irreparable damage not only to our country, but to the world.
