Representative Steve Scalise Blasts Pelosi and House Dems for Trying to Send Checks to Illegals

Normally when you break the law, you get punished.

Not in Nancy Pelosi’s America.

The new stimulus bill, dubbed the Heroes Act, pushed by Pelosi and passed by the Democrat controlled House of Representatives seeks to reward illegal immigrants.

With the last stimulus bill, in order to receive aid from the government, you had to have a valid Social Security Number. With the Heroes Act, a person only needs a Taxpayer Identification Number, something illegal immigrants have access to.

Republican Representative Steve Scalise is on it though in pointing out Pelosi’s sneaky act.

He tweeted the following about the Heroes Act:

Scalise isn’t the only one having it. The Daily Caller reports on the former ICE Chief’s reaction to Pelosi’s grand idea to give Americans’ money to illegals:

A former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) claims House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s coronavirus relief package exploits the pandemic to push a progressive agenda.

“Nancy Pelosi and her party, they are taking advantage of this crisis to push a radical agenda. Look, she wants to use our taxpayer’s money to reward illegal behavior,” said Tom Homan on Fox and Friends Thursday. Homan led ICE early on in the Trump administration.

Pelosi introduced the HEROES Act on Tuesday, a $3 trillion spending bill that includes so many progressive measures, and Republican leaders have deemed it dead-on-arrival in the Senate. Particularly on immigration issues, the legislation would make many illegal aliens eligible for $1,200 relief checks, along with a number of anti-enforcement measures.

“She wants to use U.S. citizens’ taxpayer money to pay illegal aliens … They committed a crime and entered this country illegally, they are in violation of law for working in this country illegally,” Homan said.

House Democrats’s HEROES Act, if passed into law, would allow those who use Taxpayer Identification Numbers — which are frequently used by illegal aliens who don’t have Social Security numbers — to be eligible for stimulus funds. The bill also forbids federal grant money from being withheld from sanctuary cities, and it calls on ICE to release detainees who do not pose a “threat to public safety or national security.”

The legislation includes a section that provides “temporary protections for essential critical infrastructure workers,” giving protections to illegal aliens employed in jobs that are declared “essential.” If the legislation were to pass, these illegal aliens would enjoy a period of deferred action on repatriation, and be authorized to work if they meet a certain requirements.

Take a look at Scalise’s appearance on Fox News about Pelosi:

We’ve already ran the deficit up trillions and trillions of dollars in response to COVID, and now Democrats want to put America in even more debt to give checks to illegals?

It’s preposterous!

A few days ago, Business Insider reported on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell denouncement of the Democrats’ plan to put money in the pockets of illegals:

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell assailed the $3 trillion spending package from House Democrats on Thursday. He expressed ire in particular at a provision extending eligibility for stimulus checks to immigrants who were left out of the initial wave of federal payments.

During a speech on the Senate floor, McConnell said the move would benefit undocumented people in the US.

"Another round of checks for illegal immigrants. Can you believe it?" the Kentucky Republican said. "We forgot to have the Treasury Department send money to people here illegally. My goodness, what an oversight. Thank goodness Democrats are on the case."

He also took a swipe against a measure within the bill to temporarily suspend a cap on the amount of state and local taxes that could be deducted from federal income taxes, which would benefit mostly high-income taxpayers living in highly-taxed states.

McConnell's comments illustrate the fierce GOP opposition to the Democratic plan. Republicans already declared it dead-on-arrival in the Senate, as they've expressed alarm over the ballooning federal deficit.

Under the CARES Act approved in March, nearly 150 million Americans qualified for $1,200 stimulus checks with an extra $500 per child — as long as they had a valid Social Security number. The requirement shut out undocumented immigrants from receiving the cash, a similar step taken when the Bush administration approved a round of direct payments in early 2008.

Up to 15.4 million people in mixed-status families were excluded from receiving the stimulus checks, according to the Migration Policy Institute. That figure includes 1.2 million American citizens married to undocumented immigrants.

The new Democratic plan would send $1,200 federal checks to Americans — including children — and limit the maximum amount a household can receive at $6,000. But instead of a Social Security number, recipients only need an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, which opens the door for immigrants already paying taxes to get the payments.

PRAYER CHAIN FOR TRUMP: Please add your name and a prayer to support our President!

We work hard for our money as Americans and it’s frustrating to see politicians try and give it away to law-breaking foreigners.

They should give more money to actual Americans instead, the people who actually voted them into office.

Twitter was a firestorm over the idea of handing cash to illegals:

Here’s an idea. If Pelosi and the Democrats want to issue checks to illegals so bad, why don’t they write checks from their own personal accounts?
