Trump Wants Schiff Investigated For Leaking Classified Russia Information

Once a leaker, always a leaker.

It appears that Adam Schiff may be at it again…

And Trump won’t be taking it anymore!

President Trump just put Adam Schiff on notice.

Trump is calling for an investigation into Schiff for leaking information of classified intelligence related to Russia.

See the president’s tweet below:

A report surfaced stating that Russia is trying to help socialist Bernie Sanders in the 2020 presidentail election.

However, Trump was never briefed on the alleged interference effort.

Did Schiff leak the information to the press?

The Hill has more details:

President Trump accused House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) of leaking information that Russia has sought to interfere with the Democratic primary to help Sen. Bernie Sanders’s (I-Vt.) campaign.

"Nobody said it to me at all," Trump told reporters Sunday about the reported Russian interference. "They ought to investigate Adam Schiff for leaking that intelligence."

Trump continued his accusations in a tweet later Sunday afternoon without providing evidence to support his claims.

“Somebody please tell incompetent (thanks for my high poll numbers) & corrupt politician Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff to stop leaking Classified information or, even worse, made up information, to the Fake News Media. Someday he will be caught, & that will be a very unpleasant experience!” Trump tweeted.

Within the span of 24 hours, two separate reports were released.

The first one claimed that Russia is attempting to help re-elect President Trump.

Then... not even a day later, another report surfaced claiming that the Kremlin is attempting to help Bernie Sanders win the White House.

The conflicting reports sent the capital into a frenzy.

Another report from The Hill has the specifics on the reports:

Reports this week that Russia is attempting to interfere in the 2020 race sent congressional Democrats reeling, with many lashing out at Republicans and blaming President Trump.

The New York Times reported Thursday that intelligence officials recently briefed the House Intelligence Committee about Russia interfering in the presidential race in an effort to get Trump reelected.

A day later, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said he had been briefed on similar attempts to meddle in the elections, with The Washington Post reporting the Kremlin has sought to help his White House bid.

“All Members of Congress should condemn the President’s reported efforts to dismiss threats to the integrity of our democracy & to politicize our intel community,” Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) tweeted after the Times story.

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) also weighed in, saying Republicans would “rather let [Russian President Vladimir] Putin win than stand up to President Trump.”

Criticisms from Democrats persisted even after reports of Russia attempting to help Sanders in the primary.

The Trump campaign has unequivocally denied any help from the Kremlin.

And of course, after several years of witch hunts, there is no evidence that Russia helped Trump get re-elected.

The Washington Examiner has more on Bernie Sander's response to accusations of Russian interference:

“I don’t care, frankly, who [Russian President Vladimir] Putin wants to be president,” Sanders, who is the front-runner in the Democratic primary, said in a statement Friday. “My message to Putin is clear: Stay out of American elections, and as president, I will make sure that you do.”

Reports also circulated last week that the Kremlin is meddling in the election to the benefit of Trump, which the president and members of his national security team have denied.

Will the Democrats call for an investigation into the Sanders campaign?

It would only be fair!
