Tlaib Wants To Fly Altered American Flag Outside Office In Push For D.C. Statehood

Democrats these days seem to be united by one thing alone: ousting President Trump and his “America First” attitude to get back power over the nation with lack of regard for what the American people really want, and need.

This is pretty well evident if you look at what Dems in the government are doing because the things they advocate for just don’t add up otherwise.

You may remember AOC and other leftists calling for the abolishment of the Electoral College.

However, it seems now that Ruth Bader Ginsburg shut down the notion, these same Dems have changed their mind.

Instead of scrapping the Electoral College, which they claimed only a few weeks ago was “unfair” and “racist,” left-wingers like Rashida Tlaib want to instead turn Washington, D.C. into a state!

Far-left socialist “Squad” member Tlaib even wants a modified version of the American flag with 51 stars instead of 50 to be hung outside her office in support of the idea.

The defaced American flags with 51 stars already exist and have been flown by supporters of the D.C. statehood movement.

Rashida Tlaib commented during a meeting of Congress that she "would love one," and, "would love to hang it outside of my office.”

Isn't it ironic how these are the same people offended by the Betsy Ross flag?

Keep in mind also that this is what these people are doing in Congress, instead of getting anything really done!

This is why people love President Trump - because he gets things done and doesn't dilly-dally around with nonsense notions!

Of course, on the surface, Democrats say that D.C. statehood would make things more fair in the system by giving the 700K residents in our nation's capital more representation in Congress, but it's easy to see the real reason.

Turning Washington, D.C. - which is full of liberals - into another state would help Democrats throw their weight around more in Congress, as well as give them more power in the Electoral College many of them have deemed not fair!

There's a reason our founding fathers did not make the nation's capital a separate state.

Fox News has more to say about Tlaib's vow to hang an altered American flag outside her office:

Michigan Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib said Thursday she wants to display an altered American flag with 51 – instead of 50 – stars outside her congressional office to demonstrate support for making the District of Columbia a state.

The comments came during a House Oversight and Reform Committee hearing on a longshot Democratic bill--which faces resistance from Republicans--to make the District of Columbia the country’s 51st state. Ahead of the hearing, the city of D.C. ordered and displayed 140 American flags with the extra star.

Tlaib told Mayor Muriel Bowser during the hearing, “I would love one. I would love to hang it outside of my office.”

Bowser replied, “Yes, got it.”

The mayor explained the reasoning for the flag.

“We revere our flag,” she said. “And we think it’s more perfect when every taxpaying American is represented on that flag.”

Rashida Tlaib isn't the only "Squad" member pushing for D.C. to become America's 51st state.

Guess who else is advocating for it?

Fox News has the answer:

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., called on Thursday for Washington, D.C. to receive statehood, indicating that residents didn't have the "right to vote."

"DC was the 1st territory in the United States to free the enslaved. It’s where Black Americans fled the tyranny of slavery & towards greater freedom, to DC. Yet today it’s where 2nd class citizenship reigns, and the right to vote is denied," she said.

It's unclear what she was referring to since citizens in Washington, D.C. have the right to vote like every other citizen. She appeared to be complaining about the fact that D.C. congressmen and congresswomen can't vote in the House of Representatives. DC residents also do not have any representation in the Senate.
