“They Will Never Learn!” Trump Bashes Mainstream Media ‘FAKE POLLS’

Remember 2016, when mainstream media was confident that Hillary would win in a landslide?

Remember how all the polls showed Trump trailing Hillary?

Remember the shock when they were proven wrong on election night?

Well, looks like we may be in for a repeat.

Recent polls are once again showing Trump behind major Dems for 2020, and Trump thinks they’re WRONG!

He took to Twitter to voice his opinion on the polls which he is calling “fake”:

Many Twitter users seem to be in agreement with the president and don't believe what the polls are saying.

Check out these response tweets:

For reference, here's some information about one of the polls Trump is referencing in his tweet from NBC:

President Donald Trump trails the top Democratic contenders in hypothetical matchups, according to the NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll’s first ballot tests of the 2020 general election.

Former Vice President Joe Biden leads the president by 9 points among registered voters, 51 percent to 42 percent — outside of the poll’s margin of error of plus-minus 3.5 percentage points.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., is ahead of Trump by 7 points, 50 percent to 43 percent.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., holds a 5-point advantage, 48 percent to 43 percent.

And Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., is ahead by just 1 point, 45 percent to 44 percent — a jump ball.

With more than 200 days until Iowa caucuses and more than 470 days until Election Day 2020, the poll is a very early snapshot of the general election, and much can change.

But Trump is faring worse than Barack Obama at this same stage of his re-election race.

In the August 2011 NBC/WSJ poll, Obama held a 1-point edge over eventual GOP nominee Mitt Romney among registered voters, 46 percent to 45 percent.

Obama ended up winning the general election by 4 points, 51 percent to 47 percent.

A different Fox News poll also shows Trump behind major Dems:

Market Watch has some more background:

A day ahead of his re-election launch rally in Florida, President Donald Trump attacked what he said was false polling that showed him behind a number of Democratic White House contenders.

 ‘FAKE POLLS’

Trump took to Twitter after his campaign cut ties with three members of his polling team. Last week, numbers showing him trailing former Vice President Joe Biden in several battleground states were leaked to the media.

“Only Fake Polls show us behind the Motley Crew,” said Trump, who had no public events on his schedule Monday. “We are looking really good, but it is far too early to be focused on that. Much work to do! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

A Fox News poll released Sunday showed Trump trailing five Democratic candidates in 2020 matchups. Biden was out in front, beating Trump by 10 points, while Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris and Pete Buttigieg were ahead by smaller numbers.

The Hill commented on President Trump's calling out of the mainstream media and the 'fake polls'"

President Trump on Monday sought to cast doubt on a spate of recent polls that show him trailing Democratic White House hopefuls.

The president decried what he called "Fake Polls," likening them to surveys during the 2016 election that showed then-Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton leading Trump.

He also accused various news outlets of intentionally getting the projections wrong.

"They will never learn!" he tweeted.

A variety of surveys released in the last five weeks all showed the president losing to a handful of Democratic contenders in hypothetical 2020 match-ups.

An NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, released Sunday, showed former Vice President Joe Biden Trump by 9 points among registered voters, 51 to 42 percent.

What do you think?

Do you agree that the polls are fake?

Are we in for a repeat of what happened in 2016?
