FLASHBACK: Trump Administration Brings Back White House Bible Study!

Don’t you just love this photo?

How amazing is it to see our leaders, especially our POTUS, bowed in prayer.  And not just any prayer, but prayer to the LORD Almighty, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob…..YHWH.

That’s right, God is back in the White House, and while he’s not a perfect person, we have President Donald J. Trump to thank because leadership always starts at the top.

But we also have guys like Ben Carson and Mike Pence, who are doing some heavy lifting with the Bible Study and prayer groups.

Read more, from CBN:

In an exclusive interview with CBN News’ Chief Political Correspondent David Brody, Vice President Mike Pence speaks on the unprecedented access granted to evangelical Christians under the Trump administration.

He also dives deep when speaking on the president’s faith.

David Brody:Evangelicals – boy in evangelical world, they’re sure getting some access here, you know whether it be the pro-life groups or the evangelical policy groups, all of that. But beyond that, cabinet Bible studies, praying in the Oval Office, evangelicals around the country are going, ‘wow it seems like a new day in Washington.’

What is going on, spiritually, at the White House?”

Vice President Pence:
“Well I think President Trump has a heart of gratitude for evangelical Christians in this country. I have to tell you, the sweetest words the President and I ever hear, and we hear them a lot, are when people grab us by the hand and say, ‘we’re praying for you.’

I’ve been with this President in the Oval Office with religious leaders. When people have asked to pause for a moment of prayer and the President readily embraces that. I think he’s always very humbled and grateful by the support of believers.

But, let me be clear: President Trump is a believer and so am I.

And we understand the role of faith in the life of this nation and the American people I think can be encouraged to know that in President Donald Trump, they have a leader who embraces and respects and appreciates the role of faith and the importance of religion in the lives of our families, in communities in our nation and he always will.”

But that's not all.

Liberals were not happy with this embrace of God, and they're suing Ben Carson over it. Yes, for real.

More details, from CBN:

The weekly Bible study attended by members of President Donald Trump's Cabinet is once again under attack, this time from an atheist group.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) and Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) is suing the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), led by Secretary Ben Carson.

The group has issued Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to agencies led by Cabinet secretaries who attend the Bible study to see if government resources are being used or if agency staffers feel "coerced into organizing or even participating in the religious event," according to a press release.

No staff members attend the Bible studies, it's for cabinet secretaries only.

FFRF and CREW sued HUD when it failed to waive fees for its FOIA requests.

In July, CBN News broke the news that a number of Cabinet secretaries are meeting weekly to study the Bible and pray together.

Since then, the leader of the Bible study, Capitol Ministries founder Ralph Drollinger, has faced a firestorm of personal attacks – despite the fact he's been leading Bible studies for members of the U.S. House and Senate for years.

FFRF claims it's trying to get to the bottom of the "secretive" Bible study, along with any correspondence between Cabinet secretaries and Drollinger.

Drollinger  responded on Facebook, saying, "Rather than sue, the FFRF can simply go to www.capmin.org and check out copies of the Bible studies I write and teach the Cabinet, Senate and House members every week. There's nothing secret to this – and all related Bible study expenses are paid by Capitol Ministries, a 501(c)3 organization."
