President Trump is doing absolutely everything he can to keep us safe!
But the Democrats seem hell-bent (and I use that term intentionally and literally) and fighting against America’s safety and its sovereignty!
So sad.
You’d think everyone would be on board with strong borders and keeping our country secure, but President Trump is forced to fight against the Democrats and even 12-RINO Republicans over this issue!
While the Congress passed a Bill overriding the President’s National Emergency Declaration, he just hit them with one word: VETO!
Sorry Nancy, you’re not gonna win this one!
Take a look:
Meanwhile, Pelosi announced they will fight back and try and override the veto:
Good luck!
I don't think you have the votes, but please go through the whole process and make fools out of yourselves!
You do know there only 111 successful veto overrides in the history of the USA, right?
Best of luck to you:
Town Hall had more:
President Trump issued the first veto of his presidency Friday afternoon against a resolution passed by the House and Senate to end the national emergency declaration on border security. Twelve Senate Republicans sided with Democrats on the issue.
“Today I am vetoing this resolution. Congress has the freedom to pass this resolution and I have the duty to veto it," Trump said from the Oval Office.
“People hate the word invasion, but that’s what it is," Trump continued, calling the resolution "dangerous" and "reckless."
The President was flanked by DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, Attorney General William Barr and number of other law enforcement officials. Angel Moms, mothers of children killed by illegal aliens, were also in attendance.
"The fact that this is an emergency is undeniable,” Nielsen said.
Barr also made remarks and said President Trump's emergency declaration on the issue is "firmly grounded" in the law.
Earlier today, President Trump thanked Republicans who voted against the measure.
