The government had attempted to build Wollman Skating Rink and like government always does, the project quickly fell out of control. It was badly behind schedule and grossly over budget. So much so that the city was considering abandoning it altoghether.
And that’s when Donald Trump stepped in.
Trump phoned the city manager and campaigned to take over the project.
Not only that, but similar to his service as President of the United States, Trump volunteered to work for free.
Soon the project was ahead of schedule and under budget.
