A 28-year-old transgender male (biological female) named Audrey Hale murdered 6 six people after opening fire at the private school on Monday.

Of the six victims, three were children.

One of those children was 9-year-old Hallie Scruggs.

We have now learned that Hallie was the daughter of the senior pastor at the local church.

Pastor Chad Scruggs has been a pastor at the Covenant Presbyterian Church since 2018.

He and his wife have three sons, with Hallie being their only daughter.

The New York Post has more on this horrific tragedy:

Among the six victims shot and killed inside a private Christian school in Nashville on Monday was the young daughter of a local pastor, according to reports.

Hallie Scruggs, one of three children slain in the sickening school shooting, was the 9-year-old daughter of Chad Scruggs, the senior pastor at Covenant Presbyterian Church, the church confirmed to CBS News.

Here are more details on the victims from the Post Millennial:

According to CBS, 9-year-old Hallie Scruggs was one of the three children killed in the Covenant school shooting. She was the daughter of Chad Scruggs, the senior pastor at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Scruggs had previously served as the associate pastor at Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas, Texas, according to WFAA.

Evelyn Dieckhaus and William Kinney, both 9, were the other two children gunned down in the massacre.

Custodian Mike Hill, 61, substitute teacher Cynthia Peak, 61, and school head Katherine Koonce, 60 were also killed in the shooting.

Pastor Scruggs confirmed his daughter’s death Tuesday morning.

Newsweek has more on his statement:

In a single-sentence statement Tuesday morning, Chad Scruggs—father of Hallie Scruggs—addressed previous reporting that his daughter was among those killed by 28-year-old Audrey Hale in the shooting that left three children and three adult staff members dead.

“Through tears we trust that she is in the arms of Jesus who will raise her to life once again,” Scruggs said in a statement shared with reporters.

This senseless act of evil has left many Americans hurt and angry.
