Former President Mike Pence has been issued a subpoena by Jack Smith, the current special investigator probing the alleged classified documents once in President Trump’s possession.
Previously, the FBI announced that it would be conducting a search of the former VP’s home for classified documents relating to the investigation.
It is not yet clear what specific information Smith will request from Pence; however, political pundits and the liberal mainstream media believe that this move signals that a Trump indictment could be coming soon:
.@glennkirschner2 .@CheriJacobus .@BadBradRSR .@JudyPete Does the subpoena of Mike Pence signal that Jack Smith has already dotted the i's and is ready to cross the t's and recommend Trump for indictment? We all want Jack Smith to be the lighthouse bringing in the Justice ships. pic.twitter.com/Nf9xOHrTZk

Leftists all echoed similar sentiments regarding Jack Smith, reminiscent of how many conservatives view special counsel John Durham.
holy fucking shit, Jack Smith wouldn't be going after Mike Pence if he didn't intend to go after Donald Trump. hold steady, folks, indictments are coming. tick fucking tock

Mike Pence told his daughter it doesn’t take courage to break the law, it takes courage to uphold the law. Now he has a date with Jack Smith so he better get ready to put his money where his mouth is.

Left-leaning CNN reports:
Pence’s attorney Emmet Flood is known as a hawk on executive privilege, and people familiar with the discussions have said Pence was expected to claim at least some limits on providing details of his direct conversations with Trump.
Depending on his responses, prosecutors have the option to ask a judge to compel him to answer additional questions and override Trump’s executive privilege claims.
Mike Pence did this to himself. For 6yrs, he encouraged, enabled & fed the monster. Then for one day he did his job, and the monster got really angry. And now, nobody wants him. The monster’s fans don’t want him, and the monster’s opponents don’t want him. He did this to himself.

A good, aggressive prosecutorial move by Jack Smith
Mike Pence will no longer be able to protect Donald Trump- especially if he's given immunity
And after 2 long years

Just The News writes:
Smith’s investigation has kept a relatively low profile compared to the previous special counsel investigation into Trump, that of Robert Mueller.
Smith did make headlines in early December last year after sending a bevy of subpoenas to election officials in battleground states seeking communications between them and the Trump team.
