California governor Gavin Newsom just referred to the Second Amendment as a “suicide pact” following two recent shootings in his state.

Newsom seems to be doing his best to appease far-left progressives in the democrat party so that he can secure a presidential nomination in 2024.

Meanwhile, his own state of California is a complete wreck.

The part that most reveals how out-of-touch Newsom is with reality is the fact that he said this while surrounded by armed security…

California Governor Gavin Newsom called the Second Amendment a “suicide pact” in the wake of two mass shootings in his state.

Speaking to CBS News’ Norah O’Donnell on Monday, in the wake of the mass shooting in the city of Monterey Park, Newsom attacked the constitutionally-protected right to bear arms. He repeated claims that the U.S. is unique among the countries of the world because of mass shootings. He also took aim at high-capacity gun magazines and pushed for more restrictions on them.

“The Second Amendment is becoming a suicide pact, it feels like,” said Newsom. “And that’s the only question the community wants [answered]: how are you going to — what about our kids when they’re going to school? What more can we do? And you know, again, we look at that all the time. I mean, we did another half-dozen gun safety bills last year, we’ll continue to find whatever loopholes we can, we’ll continue to lead the national conversation on gun safety reform.”

In an audition for the 2024 Democrat nomination, also known as a mainstream media interview, California’s Gavin Newsom told a CBS reporter how awful it is that normal people would be allowed to own guns to defend themselves against crime and tyranny.

“I mean, this Second Amendment is becoming a suicide pact, it feels like. It’s just – that’s the only question community-wise. What about our kids when they’re going to school? What more can we do?”

As the Bee states, Newsom is prepping for his inevitable run for president in 2024.

He truly believes that the best way to get the democrat vote is to double down on the most extreme talking points among the progressive left.
