According to Federal Election Commissions forms filed this week, Savage will run as a Democrat for California’s 30th Congressional District.
Adam Schiff has been in Congress since 2001, according to Just the News.
Just the News added:
Schiff has not indicated any plans to retire from that seat, meaning the two could end up squaring off in a primary, though Schiff himself has indicated he is possibly considering a run for Senate.
Savage previously ran unsuccessfully for a seat on the West Hollywood City Council in 2022.
FOX 11 noted that California’s 30th Congressional District has several candidates seeking the House seat for the upcoming election.
The outlet also hinted at potential policy positions for a Ben Savage campaign.
From FOX 11:
In his bid for West Hollywood City Council, Savage ran on a platform of community safety, strengthening the local economy and housing the homeless. In addition to Savage and Schiff, five others have filed to run for the spot in 2024, four Democrat candidates and one Republican candidate.
