Katie Hobbs, the Secretary of State who certified her own race against Kari Lake doesn’t want to testify in court…
I wouldn’t want to if I were in her position either, Maricopa County suffered from a mountain of voting issues on election day and now there is an avalanche of lawsuits challenging the results.
Most recently, Hobbs’ legal team filed a motion to suppress a subpoena from Lake’s legal team that would put Hobbs in the hot seat and require her testimony before the court.
They got their wish, but it wasn’t by order of the judge…

Lake’s legal team voluntarily withdrew the subpoena; according to reports, they are happy that Lake’s claims are moving forward and feel that Hobbs’ testimony will not contribute in a significant way to the case—mainly concerning Maricopa County.
Here are the latest developments in the ongoing lawsuit:
Katie Hobbs just filed a Motion to Quash. Good luck. She refused to debate and now she doesn’t want to testify? @KariLake

Cowardly @katiehobbs is trying desperately to get out of testifying in our trial.
She's already a twice-convicted racist.
She clearly doesn't want to add perjury to that list.

Western Journal reports:
State Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson ruled against Hobbs’ motion to quash Monday night, writing in his order the issues at hand concern an “activity wholly within her wheelhouse: the conduct of elections.”
Nonetheless, Hobbs’ attorneys took one more bite at the apple in a filing just after 9 p.m. Monday night, pointing out that Thompson ruled that two counts in Lake’s lawsuit would be going to trial and neither directly involved their client.
Line of questioning backfired on Katie Hobbs’ attorney with witness’ testimony:

Previously, Hobbs called for the entire lawsuit to be thrown out, according to NTD News:
Attorneys for Secretary of State Katie Hobbs and Maricopa County have asked a judge to dismiss their challenges during Tuesday’s hearing.
“The secretary does believe that the court will be able to dispose of this case in its entirety on motions to dismiss without the need for an evidentiary hearing,” Andy Gaona, a lawyer at Arizona Secretary of State’s office, said during the hearing, according to local media.
In hearing before another judge on Tuesday, Gaona sharply criticized Finchem’s lawsuit and said his the “claims that are raised by the plaintiffs are baseless.”
