WATCH: U.S. Lawmakers Move To Ban TikTok

I recently wrote an article on the harmful effects of TikTok.

The Chinese application has been alleged by many to be a tool of 5th generational psychological warfare, including President Trump, who sought to ban the app in 2020.

Kristi Noem became one of the first lawmakers to sign anti-TikTok measures into law for government employees within her state.

Most recently, the Senate passed unanimous legislation to ban the use of TikTok on all government devices and this has potentially opened the floodgates for a nationwide ban.

Senator Marco Rubio has drafted and proposed legislation that would ban the app for all U.S. users amid fears that the app is collecting sensitive data from Americans and transmitting it to the CCP.

None of this specifically addresses the harmful psychological effects of TikTok on Americans—particularly the American youth.

Just The News confirmed the unanimous approval for a ban of TikTok for government employees:

The upper chamber sent the measure to the House for approval after granting it their unanimous consent, the Wall Street Journal reported.

TikTok has long been the subject of federal scrutiny over potential security concerns involving its handling of U.S. user data and the close relationship between its parent company, the Beijing-based ByteDance, and the Chinese communist regime.

Reuters had more on the proposed nationwide ban:

The legislation would block all transactions from any social media company in or under the influence of China and Russia, Rubio’s office said in a news release, adding that a companion bill in the U.S. House of Representatives was sponsored by Republican congressman Mike Gallagher and Democrat Raja Krishnamoorthi.
