BREAKING: You Might Want To AVOID American Girl Dolls This Christmas…

Even if you don’t have a child, you probably have heard of “American Girl Dolls”.

For years (but going downhill since about 2014) they’ve had a stellar reputation, at least among children.

On a LOT of Christmas lists of young girls.

And that’s why I need to educate you all about what is happening now.

So you know what you’re giving your kids…

You ok with your pre-pubescent, elementary school aged kids being taught about transgender, pronouns and puberty blockers?

Is that what you wanted from a doll company?

That’s what you’re going to get:

From The Federalist:

The popular doll company, American Girl, recently released a new book “A Smart Girl’s Guide: Body Image,” containing controversial advice promoting puberty blockers to prepubescent girls. Rather than teaching its target audience of girls older than 10 to accept the natural progression of female puberty, the text states, “You can appreciate your body and everything it allows you to experience and still want to change certain things about it.”

Outraged parents claim the book’s description of hormone suppressants as “medicine” doctors can prescribe to provide uncomfortable tweens “…more time to think about their gender identity” falsely characterizes the irreversible treatment as temporary, failing to convey the permanence of such choices to those who lack a comprehensive understanding of puberty itself.

The legal demarcation between childhood and adulthood exists because there is a societal consensus that children are not developmentally equipped to make life-altering decisions. However, there has been increasing initiative in the United States to transfer the authority to make significant medical decisions to minors. This is exemplified on page 95 of the book, which provides resources for young girls to subvert the control of their parents to pursue transgender medical interventions.

Author Mel Hammond’s 96-page illustrated handbook is latest addition to American Girl’s long-running “Smart Girls Guide” series that emerged in the early 2000s. The series focused on topics exclusive to girlhood, such as friendship troubles, starting middle school, and knowing what to say. “The Care and Keeping of You” was the original American Girl puberty book, objectively explaining these physical changes through a lens of female empowerment. The illustrated cover of three young girls in towels is etched into the minds of millennial women, who relied on this guidebook to navigate the awkward stages of metamorphosis.

Over time, many books in the “Smart Girls Guide” series were republished to reflect changes in American culture. “A Smart Girl’s Guide to the Internet” (2009) was retitled to “A Smart Girl’s Guide: Digital World” (2017). “A Smart Girl’s Guide to Boys“ (2001) was revamped as “A Smart Girl’s Guide to Crushes“ (2020) to include homosexual relationships. “A Smart Girl’s Guide: Body Image“ (2022) replaced “The Care and Keeping of You” (1998). Gender-bending was not presented as an option in the 1998 puberty guide.

Dolls of American History

American Girl established itself as a brand based on a premise identifiable by its nomenclature. Founded by Pleasant Rowland in 1986, the company started out selling 18-inch dolls reflective of critical periods in American history. Each doll came dressed in clothing reflective of their designated era, accompanied by a book telling the story of the character’s experience as a young girl growing up during historical circumstances.

American Girl’s original stories focused on the personal struggles of young girls in history, but this literature did not attempt to equate these struggles to the triumphs of notable historical figures. These books were educational tools that humanized people of the past and broadened the reader’s perspective. Young girls could visualize historical eras because they could easily relate to situations and traits exhibited by characters that represented their demographic. Possessing a tangible doll of the character further cemented this newfound connection with history.

In 1998, Mattel purchased Pleasant Company. American Girl introduced two new lines of contemporary dolls: “Girl of the Year” and “American Girl of Today,” now called “Truly Me.” The “Girl of the Year” doll is an exclusive character with a story and a collection of purchasable outfits and accessories; this format is similar to the “Historical Characters” line. “Truly Me” dolls are nameless and numbered, allowing customers to select a model most representative of their likeness.

You ok with this?

From The Daily Mail:

The popular American Girl doll brand is facing backlash for pushing children as young as three years old into changing their gender.

A Smart Girl’s Guide: Body Image, contains lines that give advice to prepubescents on how to change their gender – without their guardians’ blessing. Parents have since slammed the book’s contents as ‘deceptive and dangerous.

A passage in the book – marketed to girls aged between three and 12 advises: ‘If you haven’t gone through puberty yet, the doctor might offer medicine to delay your body’s changes, giving you more time to think about your gender identity.’

It also provides a list of resources for organizations the children can turn to ‘if you don’t have an adult you trust’.

The book, penned by resident American Girl author Mel Hammond, is currently available on shelves in bookstores across the country and on the company’s website.

I’m not calling for it, but many people are boycotting American Girl:

Here’s what’s inside the book:

Grooming?

Not for my kids, that’s for damn sure:

From ABC Newschannel 8:

A series of American Girl children’s books is facing backlash for one of its recent titles that offers advice to prepubescent girls on how to change their gender.

The book, “A Smart Girl’s Guide: Body Image” by Mel Hammond, promotes the use of puberty blockers and, if necessary, circumventing parents to consult with “organizations that can help.”

According to Amazon, the book is for children ages 8 to 11, but the American Girl website indicates it is for ages 10 and up.

“Parts of your body might make you feel uncomfortable. And you might want to change the way you look. That’s totally okay,” an excerpt reads.

“Being transgender is not an illness or something to be ashamed of,” the chapter continues. “You can appreciate your body for everything it allows you to experience and still want to change certain things about it.”

The chapter then suggests kids who may be experiencing gender dysphoria speak to “an adult you trust like a parent or school counselor” who can connect them with “a specially trained doctor.”

“If you don’t have an adult you trust, there are organizations across the country that can help,” the book adds, pointing out those resources can be found “on the bonus PDF for more information.”

Reviews for the book on Amazon had some positive things to say about it, but in those same reviews giving positive feedback, concerns about the transgender and gender expression parts of the book were also present.

“This is the first American Girl book that I know of that addresses transgenderism, and it does so in a way that could easily confuse young girls into misidentifying as transgender,” one Amazon review from September wrote. “I’ll write about the many positive things about this book before I come back to this concern, but I want to mention it at the very beginning so that parents will be aware.”

The Christian Post tells us about the doctor behind this book:

Not long after publication, outraged parents all over the country declared that they are done with the American Girl brand.

As the story spread and parents raised their voices, American Girl doubled down, issuing a statement first to TMZ and then to USA Today.

The American Girl representative stated: “The content in this book was developed in partnership with medical and adolescent care professionals and consistently emphasizes the importance of having conversations and discussing any feelings with parents or trusted adults.”

I couldn’t help but notice the recurring, manipulative language used to obfuscate the truth. They think that partnering with medical and adolescent care professionals should make parents unquestionably trust their advice.

I started to wonder, who exactly are these “medical professionals”?

On Mel Hammond’s website she thanks Dr. Carly Guss, an adolescent medicine specialist at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, who helped to “bring this book to life.” While I don’t know to what degree Hammond collaborated with Guss for this book, which was published in February, she did thank her by name.

As soon as I read about some of the research Guss is involved in and, more damningly, some of her public commentary, the way Hammond phrased and advocated experimental hormone blockers started to make sense. Reading Guss’ work, the deceitful language became more clear.

For example, Hammond’s book tells girls that if they are uncomfortable with their bodies, a doctor may give them “medicine” to delay the changes that puberty brings. Notice Hammond didn’t say “puberty blockers.”

The word “medicine” sounds values-neutral whereas “puberty blockers” increasingly strike people as strange and even dangerous amid greater awareness of the dangers of these drugs, which have been used to chemically castrate sex offenders. Concurrent with this growing public awareness in the U.S., nations like Sweden, Finland and the United Kingdom are moving away from this treatment protocol for gender dysphoria. Even The New York Times has started asking questions about the costs of blockers.

Wouldn’t you know, amid increased scrutiny from the general public about this mass experiment being perpetrated on children, Dr. Guss is telegraphing her language manipulation suggestions to fellow colleagues. In a Nov. 1 article in the JAMA Pediatrics medical journal that she co-authored with Dr. Catherine M. Gordon titled “Pubertal Blockade and Subsequent Gender-Affirming Therapy,” her linguistic manipulation is on full display.

Guss and her co-author claim that the administration of a gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogue (GnRHa, the technical name for puberty blockers) “delays the development of irreversible pubertal changes and, in some cases, eliminates the need for subsequent surgery.”

Did you catch that? These drugs, which have never been FDA-approved to treat gender dysphoria in children and have not been subjected to any long-term tests, are being sold as the solution so that youth don’t have to have their otherwise healthy body parts amputated later. She also lies by saying that blockers are safe and reversible. Indeed, the FDA recently issued a warning about these blockers, noting that they cause vision loss and brain swelling.

Guss goes on to write about the need to “individualize care,” as if, individualizing toxic drugs makes this experimental protocol more palatable and carefully considered.

Time to deplug from the system?

Funny that I wrote about this just a few days ago:

Time To Abandon Ship?

I don’t share a lot of public details, but I have shared that I have three small children at home.

Two in elementary school.

One not yet in elementary.

And I wonder almost every day if I should pull them out of public school and send them to private school.

It’s a tough decision for so many reasons….

But when I see stuff like this, it really starts to push the scale in favor of going HOME SCHOOL!

From my friend Connor Boyack:

A friend of mine recently remarked that there were, “no good reasons left for families to have their kids in public education,” and that, “any and all sacrifices should be made to get them out.”

At first that sounded kind of harsh, but I know her pretty well, and I know that she used to believe that there was some good left in public ed, and that alternative education wasn’t always the best decision for every family and every situation. So I asked her what had changed her mind—why was she now adamant that there was no length to which parents shouldn’t go to get their kids out of the “system”?
She pointed to a culmination of the last two years—covid policy, teacher activism at a fever-pitch, abysmal education outcomes—but said that the proverbial straw was a tweet she saw earlier this week:

It’s hard to argue with how bad things really are when you see stuff like this.

I can’t imagine the psychological impact this must have had on the child who sent that text message to their parent, or the impact it must have had on the parent. Those are feelings that were once experienced by only a very small percentage of people, and those people often required a lot of therapy to deal with the trauma. Now we’ve got this type of thing happening nationwide, and at a scale that would have previously been impossible to imagine.

Is this really helping? Or is this making a much bigger problem for what is already a generation of kids that seems to struggle with mental health and well-being?

I read an article the other day about a mom who made the tough choice to pull her very young child out of school because she just couldn’t rationalize subjecting her to active shooter drills. I get that.

Parents are hard-wired to protect their kids from harm of any kind, but what happens when it becomes necessary to inflict some harm in order to potentially protect a child from some greater harm? I can think of some situations where that would be something I might be willing to do, but I’m pretty sure that being able to have my kids in school would not be one of them.

I think I’m starting to understand where my friend is coming from. At what point is it all too much? And is there even any way to fix it? I consider the old frog in the pot analogy and can’t help but see public ed as the water, and parents as the frog.

John Taylor Gatto warned parents a long time ago that the public education system wasn’t designed to help kids become the best and most successful versions of themselves. He even recognized the potential it had to cause a breakdown of the family unit saying, “Government schooling is the most radical adventure in history. It kills the family by monopolizing the best times of childhood and by teaching disrespect for home and parents….” He dedicated his life to helping save kids and families from a system that he thought was actively causing harm. We think his work is so important that we wrote a book about it!

How far have things come since then? How much hotter has the water gotten? Social media is full of teachers who view themselves as prophets for their various lifestyles and ideologies—they are evangelical in the belief that it is their job to convert (they might call it “liberate”) as many of their students (other people’s children!) into their belief systems as possible.

And it’s working. I fear that parents greatly overestimate the influence they have on their children who spend the better part of their most formative years in the care and company of activist teachers.

So what must be done?

I don’t know if I’m fully in the camp of my friend who says that parents absolutely must get their kids out now, but I also don’t know that I think things are likely to get better anytime soon. And I wonder what the cost will be for parents who choose to stick it out while they work to make improvements. How many kids might be sacrificed in order to fix a system that, at its heart, is anti-family, anti-individual, and frankly, anti-actual education?

I think a lot of families have some tough decisions to make in coming years, and I’m glad that we’ve created a place where parents from all walks of life—and at all stages of home, public, private, or other education—can come to find community, and to have access to real resources that actually offer answers to why the world seems to have gone crazy, and what we can do to keep our families and communities learning and thriving.

Whether or not public school is the right path forward is something every family will have to decide on their own—heck even the Tuttle Twins were in public school for a good part of their lives! But the good news is, you don’t have to be a homeschool parent to supplement your kids’ education with books and curriculum that teach them the truth about the way the world works, and how to find their place in it.

So whether you’re a veteran homeschooler, a busy charter school member, or following a more traditional education path, we’ve got tools to help you influence your kids for good and teach them the principles of a free and prosperous society.

After all, if you don’t, who will?

— Connor

Very scary, isn’t it?

I’d love to know what you do…

For those of you/us who haven’t yet or can’t make the move to full-time homeschool, is there a middle ground solution?

I’m happy to say there is.

Or at least something that can help you bridge the gap….

One Of My Newest Favorite Things [From NOAH]

Noah here, and I am really excited to tell you about something new.

This is directly from me and written from the heart.

I don’t reveal too many personal details about myself, but I have little children at home.

I won’t print their ages in here or tell you how many, but they’re growing fast and the future they will inherit in this country is one of the reasons I work so hard at what we do here at WeLoveTrump!

We’re in a battlefield for the future of our country, and that means the future they will live in.

So I’ve had this idea for the past 5-7 years since I first started this website that I wanted to produce some books that would help explain the world to all of our kids.

One of my main goals with WeLoveTrump is to make the news SIMPLE.

If you’ve noticed, we try and get right to the point in our stories…

We write things in an easy to understand way.

We don’t use a 10-cent word if a 2-cent word will work just as well.

We write in short paragraphs and short sentences.

Why?

Because it makes things easy to understand quickly, and that means more of our message gets out to more people!

So I’ve always had this idea that I wanted to take that same concept and transfer it into books for kids, teaching them things like Conservative Values, money management, God, faith, right and wrong….you know, the kinds of things this country was founded on.

I’ve never had the time to actually do it, and now I’m really glad I didn’t.

Why?

Because I just found someone who took the idea and ran with it…and truth be told has done it so well and so wonderfully that I couldn’t have done it better myself!

That’s high praise and very well deserved.

I’d like to introduce you to The Tuttle Twins…you’re going to love this.

If you’re tired of having your kids exposed to THIS all day in school:

Then it’s time to shield them up!

It’s Ephesians 6 folks:

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Stop sending them out like lambs to the slaughter…

Shield them up!

The books are relatively new but are already a huge success and setting new sales records every day.

And for good reason:

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this and I’m buying the full set for my kids.

But here’s why I wanted to tell you about this today…

Two big reasons:

ONE: I know we have a ton of parents and grandparents reading this and we’re less than 60 days out from Christmas.  Yeah, sorry to set in the panic, but it’s go time for presents!

Sure you can get your kids or grandkids some more toys, and that’s fine, but maybe slip in one or two of these books with your presents?

It’s the perfect gift for many of you reading this.

TWO: As always, I never leave you high and dry.

What Makes Our Books So Different?

The Tuttle Twins’ Book Series Introduces Important Ideas That Schools Don’t Teach.

There aren’t any other children’s books that present a vast array of free-market topics in such a fun way. The books teach relevant freedom-based concepts that most of us were never taught as kids. But it’s not too late!

The Tuttle Twins books challenges children to learn “adult” ideas—and they love it! We explain these ideas simply, and with helpful illustrations… and we’ve been amazed at how well kids rise to this challenge. Yours will, too.

These stimulating stories encourage children to make sense of the world—and we’ve heard so much fun stories about how this is working so well.

One mom wrote us this: “I took my kids to the grocery store a few days after we read one of the Tuttle Twins books about free markets. We were walking down the chip aisle when my son pointed to the 18 kinds of potato chips and said Hey, that’s spontaneous order! I kid you not. My kids know economic ideas that I didn’t even understand until we read the book together. So awesome!”

And I recently got this email from another mom: “I’ve been so anxious about the state of our world and what to share with my children. Now we read Tuttle Twins books each night and it has been so helpful to talk to my kids about things like individual rights, the proper role of government, and what it means to be free. These discussions are so meaningful to our family, and they wouldn’t be happening without these books. Thank you so much!”

That’s what our books are about: helping you have amazing conversations with your children about the ideas that built our amazing country but which are now under attack.

For too long, parents have lacked a language to communicate these concepts to their kids.

But not any longer. That problem has been solved with the Tuttle Twins books!

For the visual learners out there (and who can’t resist watching two cute kids?) watch this and learn from the children.

They need our help and they deserve our help:
