American sports journalist Grant Wahl mysteriously died while covering the World Cup in Qatar.
While covering Netherlands v. Argentina, Wahl went unconscious.
Paramedics immediately arrived to the scene and performed CPR on Wahl but he was pronounced dead while being transported in an ambulance.
Wahl was only 48 years old and his brother suspects foul play was involved.
Previously Wahl made major headlines after being denied entry into the World Cup while wearing a rainbow shirt.
Wahl’s brother stated “I am gay. I am the reason he wore the rainbow shirt to the World Cup, my brother was healthy. He told me he received death threats. I do not believe my brother just died. I believe he was killed, and I’m just begging for any help.”

ESPN shared these details:
Grant Wahl, one of the most well-known soccer writers in the United States, died early Saturday while covering the World Cup match between Argentina and the Netherlands in Qatar. He was 48.
US media seated near him said Wahl fell back in his seat in the press box at Lusail Iconic Stadium during extra time and reporters adjacent to him called for assistance. Emergency services workers responded very quickly, the reporters said, and they were later told that Wahl had died.
“He received immediate emergency medical treatment on site, which continued as he was transferred by ambulance to Hamad General Hospital,” the World Cup organizing committee said in a statement, which did not list a cause of death. “We are in touch with the US Embassy and relevant local authorities to ensure the process of repatriating the body is in accordance with the family’s wishes.”
Wahl was covering his eighth World Cup. He wrote Monday on his website that he had visited a medical clinic in Qatar.
Some users on Twitter have pointed to the COVID-19 vaccine causing Wahl’s death:
